Day 1 of a new thing I'd like to do everyday! Randomly generated pokemon + dex entry + the boys!
Day 1: Froslass
My goal with Cawseean Starmie’s dex entry is to blow up and act like I don’t know nobody make you just as uncomfortable as I am with actual brittle stars. Is it working?
As well as being inspired by whalefalls and shipwrecks, I was actually inspired by a very specific whale skeleton I saw on a school trip when I was 7-ish, that was on display outside the visitor centre for the nature reserve we were going to. Said nature reserve was just outside of Dungeness, sometimes referred to as 'Britain's only desert'; so now you have a ghostly whale pokemon that lives in a desert that used to be underwater (basically poke-dungeness).
Merbid's shiny colour's are inspired by false killer whales btw
Merbid= mer (French for sea) + morbid
#014 Kakuna Gold Although it is a cocoon, it can move a little. It can extend its poison barb if it is attacked. The poison was originally blood but I thought it’d fit better, but blood will appear in this series. Once you start reading the pokédex entries it really shows pokémon are brutal creatures. And I know the background isn't up to par, but I was getting frustrated and lacked better ideas.

Have some heartwarming pokemon dex entries i made up for vamlumtimes day: Wishiwashi (schooling) - Though a fearsome and intimidating presence, they are compassionate. If a school happens across an injured person or pokémon, they will ferry them gently to shore, or the closest Alomomola. Gyarados - Scientists and top pokémon researchers have documented a personality shift in Gyarados kept by righteous trainers. While still easily provoked and destructive, domesticated Gyarados are more perceptive and focused, never destroying more than necessary. Banette - The feelings of abandonment and vengeance that created this pokémon are often the results of misunderstandings. This pokémon is pleasantly surprised when it does find its previous owner, filled with relief and happiness, instead of fear and disdain. Nosepass - Though the magnetic fields of their noses prevent two Nosepass from ever looking directly at each other, having a third or more Nosepass makes a happy congregation when the polarities counteract. Large groups of Nosepass are called an "attraction." Serperior - A commanding pokémon, it is kind and honorable. Its forest domain is filled with those it vows to protect, and it welcomes newcomers with dignity and grace. Weezing - The gas that brews in its twin bodies is often toxic, but one out of every thousand Weezing concocts a gas that isn't poisonous, but instead has a relaxing effect if inhaled. Though not good for battling, these Weezing are excellent companions for people with anxiety. Froslass - Its reputation is savage, but mostly fabricated. Eye witness accounts of this pokémon paint it as a motherly, protective figure. It's not uncommon to see Froslass taking care of abandoned pokémon in the frigid mountains.
Our first regional variant, Cawseean Staryu!
Sorry for the long wait, but that’s what happens when I try to make a staryu variant based off of brittle stars, one of the few animals I’d say I have an irrational fear of. That’s why I gave these guys both a partial dark-typing and the hidden ability unnerve.
They’re just too squiggly for me...
Izzzumimi, our pikachu clone, is here! Finally a break from the water types...for now...
It’s based on dormice, with the regular form being based on the hazel dormouse and the shiny being based on the edible dormouse. Back in the Roman Empire, poor edible dormice were eaten covered in honey, hence the shiny form’s bee-like fluff colours. The fluffy ball Izzzumimi is sleeping in, as well as the position and poofiness of the tail, are meant to make it look like a little teapot, referencing the dormouse from Alice in Wonderland.
Name inspiration: Izumi (japanese for mouse/rat) + zzz + “snork mimimimi” (snoring onomatopoeia)
