man’s got it all figured out
I realized I was really mean to our Posei.
I would like to offer my deepest apologies and express how sorry I am for my actions. I had no ill intentions and it was truly just an accident with the grapes. I understand that using Uncle Typhoon to intimidate you was mean. So as a token of reconciliation, please accept my offering of the promised shrimps and this magical water horse.
I'm sorry 😔, you just look so majestic in those dresses.(You can keep them)
Poseidon: Well, this is quite a flattering way to praise me—more than welcome!
Poseidon: Oh well, I suppose just this once, and considering how good I look… I'll let it slide.
I AM BLOWING UP EVERY TERF EVER
James walks away, leaving pieces of his broken heart as he does.
He walks, each step heavier than the previous one, like he was chained with metals Hephaestus himself created. And the thing is, he didn't want to be freed.
He walks away from the gravitational pull of Regulus' presence. Even if all his thoughts are screaming at him to go back , go back, go back.
He didn't.
So he walks.
He wants to look back. To see, if Regulus too, was affected by him walking away. He didn't.
Because James wasn't Orpheus after all. He may have gone to the depths of hell, trying everything to get the love of his life out of it. He may have suffered every millisecond after he found out what happened to Regulus. Still, he was no Orpheus.
So he didn't look back. But he knows, even after not looking back, he still lost his Eurydice.
Maybe it was like that all along. There was no chance for Orpheus to get his Eurydice back. The test was just a trick. By Hades, by Persephone, by the fates. He was always meant to lose Eurydice.
Losing her by looking back. Losing him by not looking at all.
What's the difference? Nothing.
Because in the end, the only conclusion of their myth will forever end in one word,
tragic.
At least Orpheus' Eurydice wanted to leave hell.
James doesn't know If Regulus could say the same.
Hey.
