Tea and Crackers II Lyla & Dia
Lyla had planned on coming to Flowerbud Village for several reasons but she never imagined that she’d be visiting to take a look at her new home and place of business, in addition to visiting her old friend Dia in the hospital. It seemed that everyone was dealing with some sort of problem at the moment. Why right now? Why all at one?
After receiving the key to her new home, Lyla hurried to the clinic to see just what kind of condition Dia was in exactly. Open heart surgery? That must be heavy for someone her age.
Her thoughts were all over the place and she could hardly focus. It took several attempts before she found Dia’s room. She frowned at the Styrofoam cups in her hand: If Lyla didn’t like tea brewed from a teabag, then certainly Dia wouldn’t be fond of it either. It didn’t help that the only thing available to compliment their tea was saltine crackers. “I’m sorry, Dia...”, She whispered to herself. “It’s the best I could do on such short notice...”
Lyla cautiously stepped into the room, cradling a bouquet of flowers in her arms with a cup of tea in each hand and crackers falling from the pockets of her light coat. She set a cup down on the stand by the hospital bed and picked the sealed packets of crackers up from the ground.
“Dia? I brought you some flowers.” She said, forcing a smile as she handed them to her old friend. “I’m sorry if they don’t look their best... How have you been feeling? Are you well?”
