Am I the only one uncomfortable with "alter" in description of endogenic / plural systems?;

especially interchangeably amongst more modern, inclusive variants? (e.g. 'headmate').

I'm not anti-, I'm not gonna be a bitch if endos reply and explain this from their perspective.

I'm well-aware that my discomfort won't change anything; I'm conscious that I'm biased;

"alter" in the context of CDD treatment is honestly intense in its history.

And, in adjacence, the cultural meaning - "evil alter", anyone?

Of course, it's short for "alternate personality / state". I hope people understand I'm trying to talk about the connotation of the term & its use is medicine.

It always throws me off when I see endo posts using "alter".

Since that word has been... shared - for some time, all I can say is:

if a noun to describe dissociative identities pops up again... I'll be using it.

INSANE. the kind of dreams you would have if you were living in debt to a wizard. makes you sleep for at least 12 hours a day and the rest you feel dead with some 3 hours of clarity. used as both antipsychotic and as sleeping pill. idk why they prescribe it for sleep I feel like there are better ways. fight your physician if they prescribe you this for sleep.

Gaius - paroxetine

works i guess. will make you fat and so impotent it becomes actually uncomfortable to feel aroused but at least you stop being actively suicidal

Gwaine - trazodone

just makes you horny

I made a previous post similar to this about phrases like "He was written by a woman", but now I want to talk about

The idea that being "In touch with your feminine side" is a requirement to be emotionally intelligent, kind, desirable etc.

- I of course am of the belief that masculinity is not inherently toxic or harmful.

I think that there are some men who have absolutely nothing feminine about them, and there are other men for whom pointing out or assigning feminine traits about them is a massive source of discomfort. But I think that those men are not inherently invalid, or mean, or dirty.

I don't think it helps anyone to believe that Masculinity is the problem, and on the same merit, I don't think it's helpful to believe that femininity is superior OR the end goal of a man's self-improvement

This is not a criticism of preference, you can prefer feminine men, that's chill that's a vibe. I just don't like it being stated as a fact that one is better than the other is all

really like how clever gege is with the curses and their techniques. i've already talked about how the grasshopper is supposed to be a novice who thinks their hot shit but it took me until now to realize mahito's is significant too.

if mahito is the cursed embodiment of human's hatred toward each other, then his technique represents how hatred warps our perceptions of other people. when you hate someone, your judgement is clouded and you don't really see them for who they are. so it's like that with mahito

Okay, this might be a bit of a hot take BUT-

I feel like people can fantasize being with FICTIONAL serial killers, but understand that it’s not okay with real ones. 

People can enjoy these ideas happening in fiction- but that doesn’t necessarily reflect their feeling for real people & relationships.

Like, just because I say I want to be cuddled by Stu & Billy (Scream), doesn’t mean I ACTUALLY would want any sort of relationship with people like that IRL.
