Working on Calculating Prices for Paid Readings
So, this might be interesting to some of you who have been super supportive about and patiently waiting for me to publicly and officially release my paid divination services, well I'm finally at the portion of the process where I'm trying to calculate how I'm going to price the majority of my various readings by.
At the moment, I'm debating between calculating my prices by eight dollars or nine dollars instead. If I calculated my prices by eight dollars, a three card, rune, or fid reading would be roughly eight dollars a reading, while a three card, rune, or fid reading would be nine dollars a reading.
Taking either calculating system into consideration, that would mean that the most expensive readings I would offer would be capped at sixty four dollars I calculated my pricing's by eight dollars, or seventy two dollars if I calculated my pricing's by nine dollars instead.
I'll go ahead and break all of this down for you all further for anyone who is interested in the projected details, comparing prices by either the eight dollar or nine dollar calculation method.
Reading: One card, Fid, or Rune
Eight Dollar Method: $2.66
Nine Dollar Method: $3.00
Reading: Three Cards, Feda, or Runes
Eight Dollar Method: $7.98
Nine Dollar Method: $9.00
Reading: Six Cards, Feda, Runes; Five Cards Lenorman Spreads, etc
Eight Dollar Method: $15.96
Nine Dollar Method: $18.00
Reading: Nine Cards, Feda, Runes; Nine Cards Lenorman Spread
Eight Dollar Pricing: $23.94
Nine Dollar Method: $27.00
Reading: Twelve Cards, Feda, or Runes; Minor Forms of trance work, spirit journeying, Seidr rituals, etc.
Eight Dollar Method: $31.92
Nine Dollar Method: $36.00
Reading: The Grand Tableau Lenorman Spread, more intense forms of Seidr rituals, Imbas forosnai, more intense trance work, spirit journeying, etc.
Eight Dollar Method: $63.84
Nine Dollar Method: $72.00
Obviously, I would most likely round up the numbers a bit to make the prices a little bit more even if I end up going with the eight dollar method. Also, there will be exceptions to the rule of pricing regardless of whichever pricing method I end up working with for my paid divination services. Some of those exceptions include but are not limited to readings such as what would be done with Pendulum, Dice, etc.
The only time I would ever price something higher than my highest tier price cap is if I'm doing a reading for someone in real time and they want me to divine for them for more then an hour worth of time.
The highest tier of pricing is only reserved for the kind of divination or seership that requires a good bit of planning and preparation beforehand, requires multiple hours for me to perform them, requires multiple hours for me to rest from some level of exhaustion afterwards, and can only be safely performed three times a week at the most.
I'm sure some people will consider my plans for pricing my services fairly affordable, while others will obviously consider my prices way too expensive.
Honestly, the prices could be higher, as one of my diviner partners for when I divine for people in public starts the lowest of the prices for any of her paid services at $120.00 - and it only goes up from there.
My goal for setting prices for my paid services is to find a middle ground where I can make a decent profit and subsidize my monthly disability income, as I only make half the amount adult blind people make a month in the state of West Virginia, due to being penalized for moving and living out of the country a few years ago, but also keep my prices affordable enough that there's at least some tier of my paid services that just about anyone from any level of the various disability communities could afford if they needed some divination done for them and can't wait for when I open one of my rounds of free divination up.
Well that and I’m trying to make sure I don’t make too much money from paid readings that it would possibly threaten my disability pension. Either of the two methods I’m thinking about setting the majority of my prices with keeps things well enough under threshold for me to feel good about it without worrying about losing the money I make through disabilities.
The idea for going with either an eight or nine dollar method is quite simple: Eight dollars is the rate of minimal wage in my state, as well as the number eight being my lucky number, while the number nine is very sacred to me in a lot of ways.
I’m leaning more towards setting my prices by the eight dollar method at the moment, but I’m still considering the nine dollar method as well, and a couple of my close friends are trying to argue the nine dollar method as well, which is why I’m still considering it too.
Anyway, I just wanted to share with all of you where I am at as far as figuring out the prices for my various paid divination services, while also asking for any opinions, reactions, or feedback for either method. Which of the two methods would you rather see me setting my prices with and why? Thank you!
