Yakko Warner

Well... this gave me a good laugh 🤣 Don’t know why, but something’s telling me you guys really wanna hear about Yakko. Eh, it’s just a hunch, though.

Favorite thing about them:

His quick-wit, snappy remarks, and brilliant one-liners. Also, he’s a great big brother to Wakko and Dot.

Least favorite thing about them:

There isn’t any particular thing that I dislike about his character, but since the question is “least favorite,” I’ll say that there are a few times (rare ones) that his dry wit does come across as being a bit too apathetic for the situation. But at the same time, that’s just his comedic dynamic, so I can’t be too critical of it. It’s part of his charm.

Favorite line:

Good lord, how do I choose? I guess, to keep from having a mile-long list of Yakko’s best one-liners which I would gladly do, I’ll just go with the most iconic one:

...can I say Yakko and Wakko, even though they’re literal brothers? Or actually, just the Warner siblings in general. They’re a package deal, you can’t separate them.

Random headcanon:

This is probably more relevant to the Wakko’s Wish universe than canon, but... I’ve always had this idea - since Yakko and Wakko are such polar opposites in technique and personality, yet they get along so well - that former-only-child Yakko probably didn’t know what to do with his slaphappy(both figuratively, and literally) little brother at first. I imagine him being one of those kids who was annoyed by his baby sibling, and would semi-jokingly ask things like “you sure we can’t just send him back in for a refund?” (Especially since Wakko, pure child of chaotic energy that he is, was probably a real headache when he was a toddler...literally, toddlers love to run around and hit things, imagine if one could wield a mallet.)

But Yakko eventually gets used to the little tike and develops a proud-big-bro fondness for his unique toony talents, too. And from then on out, the two are inseparable. And then shortly after, Dot comes along, and Yakko gets to show Wakko how to be a good big bro just like him.

Unpopular opinion:

How do I answer this without just sounding salty  Uhhhhhhhh... ...nope, sorry, I tried. I don’t think he has anxiety over not being funny and the real insecurity, if he has one, probably lies more in the perfection of his delivery (see: the Sound of Warners, Cutie and the Beast, or Yakko singing All the Words in the English Language.)  Because he’s a big smart-talking show-off, takes pride in being more clever than anyone else, and I think it would phase him a LOT more to be outwitted or outdone than it would to just not get a reaction from someone, personally.

How about, instead of a song, I recommend you a stand-up comedian whose skits always remind me of Yakko:

Ok, Lee stated later that he goofed up, and Hector was 18 and Imelda was 19 when Coco was born, but yeah, pretty much. Man, he didn’t deserve to die, let alone dying so young… :(

I totally forgot about that! My sister and I actually watched Hercules the other day, and as soon as we heard that, we both turned and looked at each other and then just burst out laughing!

And what’s even funnier is that it’s Hermes who says his name! LOL
