What class is cracked and what class needs buffed in the next edition of D&D?
“Artur”
A Gnoll.
A commission of a background illustration! 🌧️ 🌧️ 🌧️
Some mounts my players are using in a D&D game I’m running.
In short:
Blue Chocobos are pack water predators, but they tend to be pretty chill in their outlook. They like to swim and run along waterways, and tend to camp at oasis or along rivers and do most of their hunting there. They like people. CR 1/2. With their INT 16, Skara’brean Camels are hideously smart. They’re the best mathematicians of their world, inventing mathematical languages that let them understand the cosmos around themselves on a level that even gods have trouble with, but they are still camels. They use their math to flit between dimensions to hit things with their spit and to move between dimensions when there’s trouble, because they are (a) cowards and (b) because they hate all non-camels. They name themselves for mathematical formulas, all of which they do in their head, and feel no need to prove their intelligence to anyone else. Their CHA score should have a -3 modifier. If it’s not math, they’re not interested. CR 1/2.
Pink Chocobos bond with humanoids and one another to a fanatical degree. There’s stories about how their feathers were white, but became stained by the blood of their enemies. They like to fight, hunt, and kill, but are also very protective of members of their flock and are surprisingly social. CR 1.
Jenobi are mildly telepathic giant riding hamsters. They can send general impressions and feelings at people and are apex scavengers in the wild. They’re another social species, but when riding them you don’t use reins - you think about where you want to go, hold onto the fur, and hope. CR 1.
Lastly, Aldar’s Horses are named for an ancient hero that helped kill the dragon, Xanathant. His horse was enchanted over the course of his adventures and the enchantment stuck, spreading out over the past three hundred years or so. They’re still a little skittish because they are horses and horses are couches with anxiety, but this couch can protect itself from some forms of damage and deal that damage right back. The resistance and grace powers last for a minute when activated. CR 1.
Enjoy~!
Today I finally started my first real campaign (not just a oneshot) with my leetle human druid Willow who was perfectly happy as the village hedge-witch and was very shocked when one day she turned into a deer. She is very sweet, but has a petty streak a mile wide.
Just a friendly reminder that the No Taverns half-twitterbot exists! Four times a day, each day, it shoots out adventure prompts for fantasy RPG games. On Sundays it shoots out lots of Sci-FI RPG prompts too. What a good time we’re having over there! https://twitter.com/no_taverns
Let’s talk about D&D&D! That’s Dungeons & Dragons and debt. Strictly 5e. Live in the now. Guys. I don’t mean to brag, but I run a fourteenth level wizard that I’m pretty damn proud of. She is a cold-hearted bad-ass lawful-evil murder-machine. My steed is a magic broom with a fifty-foot move-speed. My staff turns …
