A truly terribly chaotic dnd trap/puzzle
So, I'm currently writing a plan for what will be my last session dming for my current group for a few weeks before I go on holiday and honestly I'm a bit lost, I want to make it more puzzly and some character role playing, but I struggle with it and keep falling back on combat
And then earlier today to include a magical trap that incorporated a real life cheat code. Going to an elaborate manor of a old hermit human wizard while they're attempting to find more information on the fall of the nearby elven city of Wolfsong, my players find themselves in the entrance hall of the manor
They are faced with five doors and two staircases. One staircase in the back left corner leading down, one in the bottom right corner leading up. There is one door leading to the left, the second is leading to the right and the final three are all set against the back wall. One of these three is labelled Altar, one is labelled Books and the final door simply has a star on it.
To progress through the entrance hall and into Konami's study, they must:
1. Go up the stairs twice (as after the first time they reappear in the room)
2. Go down the other stairs twice (again they will reappear in the entrance hall after 1st attempt)
3. Go through the left door and reappear in the entrance hall
4. Go through the right door and reappear in the entrance hall
5. Go through the left door again and then the right door again
6. Go through the Books door
7. Go through the Altar door
8. Finally go through the star door
Or alternatively, they must go Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A, Star(t)
Ladies, enbies and gentlemen, players and dms, artificers to wizards and every class in between I present!
