The past few weeks have been transformative for me, and the reason I’ve been able to integrate so much is because of all the things I’m letting go of.⠀ ⠀ When we do this self improvement work, when we begin to meditate everyday and pay attention to our thoughts and patterns, we come upon all the parts of ourselves we don’t want to look at. ⠀ ⠀ That’s why so many people don’t want to do this work. It’s uncomfortable to look at the vulnerable, or darker sides of ourselves.⠀ ⠀ But by paying attention and working through our patterns, we can experience the freedom of letting go. Letting go of old habits that kept us small. Letting go of attachments to the way we look, the identities we create like “perfect mom” or “victim of such and such.” When we let go of those attachments, we find that we are able to be more fully ourselves. We can respond to situations instead of reacting out of unawareness and pain.⠀ ⠀ We can let go of people, places, and situations that are doing nothing but harming us. By letting go, we can find and create our boundaries and move into a new life with a feeling of contentment and security as we honor ourselves and our true needs and desires.⠀ ⠀ We can let go of things, the clutter that’s overtaken our desks, our closets, our life. ⠀ ⠀ Letting go is a beautiful thing.
