It amaze me how mostly underapretiated content involve Mia is (I mean art and writting). At the same time people who call her evil, ship Ethan with Karl, who is an antagonist of the game (hello), literally murder hundreds of people and experiment on corpses, but they just brush it aside as long he isn`t moraly grey character like Mia. And even if he would be, they could`ve been more understanding for him since he is “hot n sexy”. Also as far I understand mommy issues makes better excuse than, for example, providing for better future for her husband and herself. We don`t even know if that was the reason she joined the connections, because capcom never care to give us any explenation. For them Mia was just plot trigger, she played her role and that was it. And even if it was something as simple, so what? Does every character need to have super important motive to pick bad life choice?
Besides I bet most of you didn`t care for Ethan in res7 either, till he get development and died heroic death in 8th. That doubled hate for Mia, since she became ultimate scapegoat. She doesn`t even show that much in the game, but some of u already jump to conclusions like she doesn`t has any remorse of what happen because of her. How did u manage to read it from 5 minutes performance? Sad thing is many scenes involve Mia nad Rose were cut of by capcom, therefore key moments for her character and relationship weren`t shown. You also forget that despite Mia still hidding stuff from him, Ethan wants her back in his life. It was his decision to get back with her and never sees himself without her or with someone else.
And I wouldn`t be bothered that much if I didn`t see those double standards in every fandom. BUt of course you don`t have to like her, not everyone has a good taste in women like Ethan (and me and also few others lol). You can come at me haterz, don`t care
