I haven’t posted a #comicbookhaul pic in a while. Here are some of my recent purchases and reads. I had to support the new #Naomi comic fro #DCComics #WonderComics. I had a really profound moment when I realized that I was reading #Ironheart #Shuri and #Naomi at the same time. All very powerful women of color. #representationmatters #TheBatmanWhoLaughs is off to a fantastic start. The writing is riveting and the artwork is outstanding for the nature of the story and this twisted character. After reading #OldManLogan, #OldManHawkeye is a great read. The #JusticeLeague and #JusticeLeagueDark series are quite good. The story is just so huge. This whole Source Wall concept really makes the universe feel small. Lastly, #BlackPanther “The Intergalactic Empire of #Wakanda” series has been really interesting. It really rethinks, or recasts, the main characters and even Wakanda. I love the strong space/sci-fi with lots of references to African Spirituality. It’s been a little while since I posted my #comicbook haul. I have never been intimidated by a book and definitely not by a #comic book. BUT... after reading the #DarkNightsMetal series... I am excited yet apprehensive about cracking open the first issue of #TheBatmanWhoLaughs. This is one dark twisted character. It’s going to be an amazing series. I have to give a big shout out to the new #RiriWilliams #IronHeart series. #RepresentationMatters Outside my #DCComics and #MarvelComics, I’m continuing to read #Noble from @LionForge and #BlackAF from @blacksuprpowrs. My #comicbook journey did not start as a kid or a teen. It started here. #InjusticeGodsAmongUs Year One Issue #1. It was one of the first comics I read almost six years ago. It sparked something in me. I read one and wanted more. Today I’m reading multiple storylines from multiple publishers. I started out reading the digital edition so I never “owned” the hard copies.... until this week. I purchased the all 11 copies of #InjusticeYearOne and the Annual. This is where it started for me. This is part of my origin story. This is just one small part of my story. Darn that #TomTaylor for getting me hooked on #comicbooks! 😁 One quick note regarding Bill Maher’s comment regarding comic book readers.... if adults write, illustrate, color, letter, edit, print, distribute, and sell #comics... #Comicbook Update 2. I jumped into two new series last month. #JusticeLeagueDark and #BlackPanther Intergalactic Empire of #Wakanda. Both have really drawn me in. #JLDark deals with more of the fallout from #DarkNightsMetal and the #SourceWall but from a magical angle. Lots of complex character development. Meanwhile #BPIEoW is life!!!! I’m loving everything about this series.
