One of my favourite funny moments involving Zatanna happened in Impulse Vol 1 #67.

So the heroes throw Max Mercury a party after he was saved from the brink of death:

Plastic Man tries to get Zatanna drunk giving her hiccups:

Meanwhile Bart and his friends arrive at Max's house so the heroes have to hide themselves fast:

Somehow Martian Manhunter and Aquaman are rocking their alternate fits.

Zatanna is last seen in the issue talking to Max Mercury:

I really like Impulse 1995, it’s my favorite comic series but an entire issue where Dr. Morlo and Max Mercury are making out and fucking seemed a bit unnecessary.

morlomax for the reverse un popular opinion ask game?

Oh stars I love the potential for them being friends in the 40s that eventually just went ass sideways and imploded on both of them. Them reconnecting when Morlo is in his 80s and finding friendship again after the whole world changed on both of them in many ways just hits me hard.

Because the world they were both friends and enemies in is no more, society is utterly changed, motivations change as well and Morlo just doesn't have the true pettiness anymore to banter with Max like he did when he was in his 30s.

They are divorced and they were never even married but reconnect and give it a shot again and it was what both of them needed.

They mean a lot to me.
