Shadow headcanons

He doesn't show it but he is an empath. Spending to much time around people will exhaust him and he will need a recharge more so than normal. He'll get a bit stressed and Rouge will pick up on it. Took a long time for him to admit this part of himself to her and Omega as well. Another reason he doesn't like to be around people so much but with those he trusts. He's been that way since the ark.

He's also an animal empath. He loves spending time with animals. Especially Chao. He knows how to handle them, knows how to feed them, and knows what they want. He gives lots of info to whomever walks in on him or anybody is with him. It could be about frogs, it could be about dogs. Etc

He likes older anime like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Angels Egg, Trigun, Akira, Serial Experiments Lain, Etc. Basically any show that is psychological, post apocalyptic. Anything that has meaning behind it. He doesn't like those anime shows were it's just mainly hentai, sempai, and just jiggly boobs. He can relate to himself in Ghost in The Shell, Akira, Elfen Lied as well. Rouge and Sonic got him into anime.

Back on the Ark. Polish, German, French, and English would be the main languages the scientists spoke. Since Robotnik is Polish that would be Shadows first language. Then English is his second language. Robotnik spoke Polish to his daughter and sometimes to Shadow. Maria spoke mainly English to Shadow. But she did mix her Polish and English when she spoke sometimes. Shadow would understand

He likes to have his nails painted. A night out or having Amy spending the night over at the clubhouse/apartment, Shadow will have his nails done by either Rouge or Amy. Shadow will take turns doing either Rouge or Amys nails. If it's just Rouge and him they both do each others.

Despite not being a fancy person and one for having designs and whatnot in his room, like Rouge he collects statues of Dragons and places them on his dresser or his desk. He always had a liking for those it's just Rouge got him into using them for his room.
