GOOD BYE CRUEL WORLD
❝ SINGING ? ❞ her words without hesitation certainly pique his curiosity. what was one thing--humming ever so quietly as he worked, musing without words--seemed to be another to her. not that he expected much less, coming from the DRAMA CLUB PRESIDENT herself! he’d heard through various sources of the new play they intended to put on, provided they were capable of finding interested parties. ( he didn’t care. while he had his moments, the club--just like her--never particularly interested him before. another fact, another obstacle, another thing to be USED-- )
hands fall to his side, letting go the loose trimmings from general maintenance work. it wasn’t like anyone else was working around here... but why did she come to HIM, of all people? it wasn’t as if he stuck out, rather--he maintained an average appearance, so he thought. his front to his school was nothing short of it. so why now did she...?
❝ i’ve never tried. i’m not really...into that sort of thing. --- it’s not a passion, like it is for you. so i never thought much of it... ❞

she’s wearing headphones, music BLASTING through to the outside world--it’s the only way to escape from kizana’s narcissistic practice of singing loudly to herself and waiting to receive c o m p l i m e n t s for it.

A RARE ℜ APPEARED!
♎ - What is one thing you love about your writing?
Umm … to be honest, though it might sound weird when I’m on a character blog, I like my ability to get into a character. Even when I’m writing multiple characters, I think I do a good job of getting into their head and portrayng them accurately based on what I think they’re like, and how they’d react.
✄ - Three phrases you use too much in your writing?
Ahh heck. I talk about eyes too much in my writing likE … I can’t even use the excuse that Yu isn’t expressive enough to use anything else because I do it on all my blogs. Half of my sentences start with “his eyes” tbh I’m nuts. I use “He’s silent for a few moments,” a lot, largely because …. Yu is quiet especially when he’s thinking. Another one is probably … “He doesn’t understand it.”
♪ - How do you decide on your muse’s dialogue?
WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY. Honestly, this was the hardest thing for me to do when I first started Yu. I could get his mannerisms (he has none) and his thoughts (largely sarcastic) but his dialogue? Hell if I knew. Basically what I do now is, depending on the time period, I try to emulate canon as much as I can. I try to stay as true as possible to Japanese, so I haven’t seen the english dub of the anime because I think it would throw me way out of wack. A lot of the time Yu “speaks” in my mind in Japanese and I have to translate it as naturally as possible to English, so I’m afraid that my dialogue comes out really … weird sometimes, but Yu has such a distinctive way of talking that I just like … bend over backwards trying to get it right. For later games where I only heard his English voice, I tend to use that as a model because I think it captures how much more confident he’s become since his time in Inaba, because it comes out a lot smoother as a result of it not being….translated.
One part of Yu’s dialogue that still trips me up to this day is … he barely ever refers to himself, so just imagine having to restructure every sentence that has “I” in it so that it doesn’t refer to oneself. Like, every time Yu means “I think that_____” he says it like “don’t you think that______?” instead. I can count how many times I used “I” in dialogue on one hand.
