The apparently cancelled Voltron game is the biggest example of missing the point since well, Voltron Legendary Defender

I know I pick on this franchise A LOT. Frankly, it deserves a few swirlies until the people in charge either figure out why kids cared about it in the first case, mothball it, or sell it to Sony or Hasbro. But really, what else can you say at this point? They made a Voltron game that doesn't have a single second of giant robot fighting! That's like making a UFC game where you play as Daniel Cormier doing the commentary.

Look at the sample of their script. Just, look at it and try not to fall over laughing at how badly they missed the point.

How did the Gundam game with the Zeon squad of waifus get the point but this game, which was being hyped by its developers last year at VoltCon before the cancellation was announced as the "definitive Voltron game" get it right and this didn't?

So, yesterday I noted that Rojak studios was set to show their proof of concept for their “Voltron inspired” (because remember, Dreamworks lost the license) game at VoltCon 2021. These are the proof of concepts for the game.

Guess what’s missing?

Much like the Legendary Discourse, the people making a Voltron game forgot to add in the goddamn giant robot! Even the Gundam Battle Operations spin-off with the waifus got that right!

Voltron is a cursed franchise, because the people in creative positions don’t get why people actually care about it in the first place. Klance isn’t selling toys to anyone.
