What's Haunting You, Marion? by Missing Triforce

I don’t breathe a sigh of relief, as that would be a dead giveaway.

“You can go ahead, Marion,” says Ted, the security guard, pointing with his thumb over his shoulder. “All good.”

Hefting up my bucket of cleaning supplies, I step out of line and join my gaggle of new co-workers by the driveway gate. There was a 51% chance I’d be caught just then. You put in all the work and electronic fiddling to create a false identity as "Marion Garcia," enough layers to pass background check muster, and it can all go to shit if a human being says, “You’re fired because I don’t like the look of your face.” Freelance employment sucks like that.

I would have minded, if it failed. This case isn’t one I want to miss. Private investigators mostly do missing persons, but this one the persons involved were already dead, and there was a 32% chance the house was haunted by their ghosts.

If you're interested, below is an outline of the main plot beats. Major game spoilers ahoy!

The MC is Laura, a private detective hired by Victoria Cross and Lia Feldman (nee Cain) to investigate Duke and his suspicious activity.

Laura made fake ID “Marion” in preparation for posing as cleaning lady

Hired as a cleaning lady, she pokes around the mansion.

She researched rumors of people disappearing and legendary feuds, including "Hollywood's Most Feared Kingmaker" article and investigations into the two bodies found in a nearby canyon.

Starting in the Intro to Theater Segment, she cleans the theater with a co-worker

A technician is there to replace the projector entirely, as it refuses to work. It keeps showing Splices of Vinny and Chase

Returning cleaning things to garage storage, she's warned to never mention “Tommy” or “little angel”

She hears Chase breathing

Moving onto the Little Angel Segment, Laura walk ins on Duke carving shapes onto the piano and get shouted off to clean his room

She absently hum Tommy’s lullaby while cleaning and notes the teddy bear nanny cams and how the nursery proper is blocked off

Going into the Spa Room Segment, Laura is called in night after huge party

Co-worker tells her that pool was drained for cleaning and a drunk actor fell off the diving board

She has to refill all the lotion bottles D:

Poseidon is lifted up to allow for cleaning and Laura finds the one-way mirror into the audition room

She speculates on what brother Duke wronged and his god complex. She remembers that Frank Gardeu likes Greek Mythology

She finds a red tube of lipstick in Zara's sponsored makeup line and glow-in-the-dark paint cans

Going into the False Artist segment, she muses on the irony of the whole piece and sees Chase's ghost mumbling the 7210 lines

Following Chase to the rehearsal space, which is still set up for The Last Voyage, she reviews the plot of the movie and its now infamous reputation

Chase curls up by Vinny’s mannequin. Laura promises to bring him something real to latch onto, and Chase gives her a USB stick with his and Vinny's audition videos

Coming out of the kitchen, she stumbles on Duke painting the walls and is told to piss off.

Laura meets Lia and Victoria at a random hotel for update

Lia and Victoria are fucking. Lia tips her off about the security room

When Laura returns to the mansion, she hides articles about Chase and IMDB print outs around the house, to strengthen Chase's ghost

Duke’s behavior is becoming more erratic and drawing more on walls. He mutters the voicemail and text calls to Chase we see in-game

Laura and Co-worker are told to clean the Mouse Room

UV Light reveals Duke’s drawings and Laura is able to find the burial site. Chase and Vinny's bodies washed out due to erosion

During shift, she's able to get into security room. Chase helps with the puzzle <3

Laura recovers Vinny's phone and is able to use it to record suspicious evidence, enough that the police can be called to search the place

Chase finds the Teddy Bear recordings of his final night and what happened at 10:10pm

Duke finds Laura leaving with the phone and chases her to the bathroom

Vinny reveals that he's been haunting Duke specifically, causing the erratic behavior

Chase and Vinny bite Duke to death

Laura drives off, knowing the ghosts are at rest
