i am suffering a lot today so here are my thoughts on dwarves and periods:
-alright so ik this has def been discussed in the fandom before, but reproduction is incredibly important to dwarves so it makes no sense for them all not to know the ins and outs of the menstrual cycle
-like they prob have to take some sort of course or have a discussion with a medical professional about periods when they all hit dwarven puberty or smth
-and in such discussions it was prob also mentioned that every person with a uterus has different reactions to the menstrual cycle (i for one, get incredibly intense and painful cramps that leave me in bed half the day, while someone else might have mood swings or not feel any cramping at all)
-also i personally hc dwarves getting their period every 3-4 months and last about 2 weeks
-and we also know how precious women are to the dwarven race, with a 1:3 ratio between women and men. Now, i hc that dwarves just do gender better and completely recognize that it’s not just a women’s problem, but with the association of womanhood with the menstrual cycle, i think the men would really put in the effort to make sure the women and other uterus owner’s are in as most comfort as possible during their bleeds
-like Dwarves are just better than Men in response to periods so there would be no stigma or shame surrounding the topic (which is something i desperately need in the modern world)
-Dwarves would just. take such good care of the ones hurting from it all, and i feel like the whole community would make sure the person on their period is doing okay
-Making sure that they’re good on herbal pain remedies, that they have the right foods and enough water (or tea), that if they need it they have a warm fire and blankets, or just give them space and leave them be
-i just wanted to get these thoughts out here lmao imma go warm up my heating pad
