"Shush, just concentrate on staying awake, okay? //Don't sleep.//" Kilgrave kept Jessica's head on his lap as the car drove towards the hospital at full speed. His fingers caressed her cheeks. (deranwaltderteufel)
@deranwaltderteufel
Jessica hadn’t been sure what had happened. Things just didn’t seem to line up right in her mind. “I had too..” She tried to get out but pain sliced through her and she felt as though blood was bubbling up her throat. Lights had weird streaks behind them as she tried to concentrate on something, sound was loud and then dulled right down. Don’t sleep. It was a command. She knew and yet for once her body couldn’t really take it in. And yet her body seemed to be obey. For a while. A soft hand on her cheek. What? That wasn’t what she was used too. The little boy. She’d seen a young angelic boy and ...everything didn’t really line up anymore. “Don’t...don’t be....mad.” It was hard to talk. So hard. “P-please.” Begging.
She cried out in pain when the car seemed to bump against something and everything went through her body.
@ Valter for ded meme.]] "I've done all I can..." [[post lance? Cause we know Henry wold stick around.]]
RIP
The townspeople had found out that Valter was apparently “changed” again -- this time seeming to miraculously regained his sanity. At first, they ignore his reported change of heart, thinking it was some sort of elaborate hoax to test them. But then... months went by, with no apparent abductions. Trade routes were restored. Past victims returned, telling about the horrors they’d been through.
And the people were angry.
They came as a furious mob in the night, breaking into his house, kidnapping him, beating him soundly, and subjecting him to just a few of the torturous techniques he had once been so eager to try out on others.
There was nothing Valter could say or do to sway their minds -- it was finally time for them to enact vengeance against the tyrant who had controlled them over the better part of a decade. Valter endured it all -- or tried to, at least -- with dignity.
In the end, the people got bored with him, and left his charred body in the midst of the forest, hoping wild animals would quickly tear him to shreds. Valter slowly curled into a ball, waiting for death to claim him. But a voice roused him from the darkness, if only momentarily.
“H... Henry...” he rasped, barely recognizable with so much of his body burned away. “Y... You’re free now... Understand? Free... As I am, now. Truly free...”
[ if it's alright to send, for the death meme ] "Pray nothing awaits you in death."
RIP (You’re always welcome, friend!)
“Hah… hah…” Valter grinned, even as coughed up blood stained his teeth. “Do you… expect me to beg for forgiveness? Little ‘King’…”
Another cough. “I’m not afraid of what I’ll find there… You all should be the ones who are afraid… Whatever will your sanctimonious lot do once you’ve run out of people to hate? Will you turn on your own kind like dogs? I’ve seen it before…”
He snarled slightly, face contorted with disgust. “You’re all… worms. Barely fit to be crushed underneath my heel. You may have bested me, boy, but I’ll be awaiting the day one of your own thrusts his dagger into your back over some petty court drama… And you’re sent to hell along side me.”
(not sure what timeline this takes place) Agro rears behind Nora's back, keeping watch for any who may try to hurt him or his master. Nora on the other hand looks down at the Moonstone's battered body, her axe glistening with blood. His blood. "Y'r reign ends here."
RIP (Oh right I remember why I logged on now lmao)
“Urgh...” Valter should have seen that coming, to be honest. In a way, he had been expecting it. He knew very well the limitations of his weapon, yet he went against her anyway. His arrogance had clouded his judgement for the final, most fatal time.
“Hnngh... Th... That’s what you think...” he hissed, eyes narrowing. “There’s no way to undo what I’ve already accomplished... No way to undo the past... I’ve left my mark on history, like it or not, you worm... My reign of terror... Is only beginning...”
He’d rest easily in the afterlife, knowing that there was no way to mitigate the damage already done or any way to heal the psychological damage he’d painstakingly inflicted on all of his prior victims -- those that were lucky enough to escape with their lives, anyway. There was no way for him to live forever -- only to inflict enough torment that his name would be brought up in hushed whispers for generations to come.
He died there, knowing he’d already won.
