I’m rolling up to this like- a decade late, but I think Adam’s line, “you’re thinking about how much you want to **** 2B, aren’t you?” Doesn’t have a definite word to fill in the blank. Not in the sense of ‘oh it’s up to audience interpretation’, but rather in the sense that 9S tends to have contradictory thought patterns (dude you can’t spend weeks to months interacting with machines, including fucking around inside their actual brains and then still claim they’re unthinking and unfeeling) and overwhelming wants (see: the entire second half of the game). I think he wants to free 2B, I think he wants to kill 2B, I think he wants to kiss 2B, I think he wants to fuck 2B. I think wants to hate 2B. I think he wants to love 2B.
I think they are all there, all loud, all conflicting desires, and all absolutely not something he wants anyone let alone Adam dredging up and throwing back at him.
It’s not what, exactly, 9S might want that is the problem. It’s that at the heart of himself is nigh on all consuming desire and at the heart of that desire is 2B.
Or at least that’s my take on it, but who knows, maybe I’m wrong

for months now, adam and you had a relationship that was unlike any you had before, nor were allowed to have. a biomachine and a human weren't supposed to be together, yet you had went behind yorha's back multiple times, seeing out their greatest enemy for some… inappropriate night time activities.
only that now, just hooking up with adam wasn't enough anymore. or rather, it was never enough for you. you didn't just want to be someone he wasted his nights with – you wanted to be the only one for him!
“adam…?”
during another visit to the place adam resided, you were determined to finally figure out what you were to him. even if it could potentially end everything between you two.
“what am i to you?”
adam seemed a little surprised by that question, quietly eyeing you up and down, before carefully replying: “you're a human, correct?”

The last thing you remember is desperately holding onto your friends' hands, your companions, the people you have been working with so hard to try to achive freedom with, perhaps you were aiming too high but all you did was for a greater future, you wanted nothing more than to bring good things to your loved ones and now you were reduced to a bunch of criminals
All of you hold onto each other as tight as you could, desperately trying to hope that you could be together, that the sentence the divine force you have angered wouldn't become reality, you were doomed to be separated, all of you would be send across of the universe, to diferent worlds, to diferent dimensions and be punished by the mercy of the universe, if you were lucky you would find a place to setle down and forget about what you once knew, bound to never find the place you fought for or the friends you made ever again, if not the remains of you will wander across the universe until your body return to its original form
And after that you barely had a moment to glance at your friends one last time before the feeling of your arms almost being rip apart as you were forcefully taken away from your friends
You were lucky enough to be "welcomed" by a new world, it was quite deserted but just having a place to be was a blessing for someone who doesn't have anything like you. The first days were the more dificult, after all you were all alone and you had to learn about this world all by your own, almost getting killed by some machines was definetly not a good way to start your new life but at least you now knew to be more cautious in the future, but, ironically, that encounter was enough to change your luck in the near future
The network of the machines is all connected, and after Adam and Eve were born they not only were connected to it but also got some power over it, that is why the moment the machines got even a glimpse of a living being that was unlike anything else that still lives in this world suddenly under their sight they not only imediatly knew but caught Addam's attention
Adam wouldn't lose the change to meet a real human so the moment he was able to have a better look at you throught the network he imediatly went in his way to search for you, dragging Eve along with him
The first encounter was a bit messy, after all they were indeed the first "people" of this world you could actually comunicate with but still you didn't knew if they were trust worthy. But, at the end, it wasn't like you had much options left and Addam seemed to be just as determinated as respectful of you, ultimately pushing you to accept go with them
From the start there was a big diference between both, while Adam took every chance he had to pry every bit of information about you and your world, wanting nothing more than learn about the humans, Eve put some distance while keeping an watchful on you, just wanting to make sure you weren't a threat
Perhaps it was Adam's interest on you, perhaps it was the fact that you have admited that you have lost all the people you once hold dear before reaching this world, or perhaps it was both, whatever it was it made Eve grew to care for you at the end, somehow having you around all the time and hearing so much from you, hearing how willing you were to sacrifice everything you had and were for your loved ones leaded Eve not only to see you in a new light but accept you as part of the family; although, that also meant he started to treat you like a little kid, after all you knew pretty much nothing about this world
Since you are the weakest from all (at least in Eve's eyes) he has to protect you, he is almost walking you by the hand just to make sure you won't accidentally hurt yourself by messing with what you shouldn't, somewhat feeling like your past actions in your world will lead you to mess around this world and get you in troubles again, something he wants to avoid at all cost because he doesn't want to lose you (something Adam ends indulging because that way he assure you are always safe, but also because is hilarious seeing you two interact)
Sometimes, whenever you get to simply hang out in more peaceful moment Eve is the one asking more about your world, but more than that he asks about your friends, the people you lost, he doesn't intent to upset you but he just can't imagine what you are going throught, after all he doesn't know what it will be of him if something ever happens to Adam
In the other hand, Adam's curiousity slowly grows to become care, his curiousity will never fade away but the more he gets to know you the more he underestand you and even sympathize with you, you are more than just a source of information but also part important of his life, it mades him more considerate of you and Eve
Adam has never cared too much about why you have been exiled from your world, for him it was just part of your story and he asked just because he was curious but the fact that you were judged as a criminal it wasn't something that bothered him at all, but as time passed and he grew to care for you more and more it started to bother him a bit more, even if you were sentence to never reach contact to the people you once lived perhaps he could, besides that divine authority of your world holds no power in this world, maybe he would be able to do something about it, still, he will not say anything about this to you until he reaches the results he wants
