Rarely Posted image of Aaliyah and DMX behind the scenes of DMX's music video "What These B****es Want" which features Sisqo (from Dru Hill). The song was also released June 6, 2000 (same day was "Back In Once Piece").
DID YOU KNOW: Dru Hill group member Nokio the N-Tity produced the song and provided background vocals. The music video was directed by Hype Williams.
Aaliyah came out to show love and support for her fellow "Romeo Must Die", and "Back in One Piece" collaborator, DMX.
Aaliyah was just one of those genuine people that always enjoyed watching her peoples come up with her and using her platform anyway she can. No, DMX did not need her, but he appreciated what she did for him when she was alive; especially making sure he had a role in RMD. She was in the game longer than him and still treated him like family. He never forgot that and loved her like a sister. When she died, he felt like he lost family and any interview where Aaliyah's name came up, DMX always made sure to give her praise for just being the person she was.

DMX suffers a heart attack which leaves him in a vegetative state for days due to lack of oxygen to the brain. The entire world prays for this iconic rap legends speedy recovery, which, unfortunately, never comes. DMX would pass away April 9, 2021.

DMX had a significant impact on hip hop music and is considered a legend in the genre. He "defined 2000s rap" and was "among the most prolific rappers of his era". He broke and set numerous records.
#OnThisDay April 9th, 2021, DMX lost functionality in multiple essential organs, reportedly his liver, kidneys, and lungs, and was pronounced dead shortly after at age 50. It was revealed on July 8 by the Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office that Simmons' official cause of death was a cocaine-induced heart attack.
