They really like saying the word "ecolalia"

This is gonna be phrased oddly, cause words are hard, but I'll try my best. Can you do ecolalia but with animals? Like, repeating things after your pet? Example: my dogs barked earlier and then without even thinking about it (it was instantaneous) i repeated exactly (to the best of my ability) what he "said". I do this a lot, and no one thinks anything of it cause my family repeats after our pets a lot, but as far as ik it's not like what i do. Sorry for the weird phrasing!
Admin G here, personally, I think so. I do it a lot or want to really do it a lot with animals, especially when I hear them barking, howling, meowing, or chirping. It’s really fun to do and extremely satisfying when I respond back to them, even if they can’t hear me.
Most recent ecolalia is Minecraft villager noises
Someone around me has said "idiot" often and ive picked it up as echolalia and I dont know who gave it to me help

Correction of “The Dictionary of Autism”
http://autisticliving.tumblr.com/post/155388852266/the-dictionary-of-autism
defines Ecolalia as follows: “Echolalia is a form of stimming where you repeat words and sentences because you like the way they sound, because it calms you, or because you like the repetition and sensory input that it provides.“
This definition of echolalia, while not wrong in what it says, is dangerously incomplete, and plays into tropes that are often used to ignore and dismiss autistic communication. Repetition can often (although not always) be communication -- with the intention being, among other possibilities: emphasis, inability to access a more accurate word, or simply irritation at not being understood. See this rather widely read post from RealSocialSkills for more detail: http://realsocialskills.org/post/32526314325/social-skills-noticing-when-repetition-is

ECOLALIA
Ecolalia is an immersive sound and light site-specific installation that utilizes ecological geospatial data to echo the ecoregion of a developed site. This installation is modeled off of data gathered from an equivalent local ecosystem. A selection of plant species from the ecoregion are represented in light and sound, each plant’s growth and decay rate based upon horticultural data and overlapping. Stripping away the living material, the system is seen, heard, and felt as a forest of code, echoing what once was, what could be.
Creating this entry point through sound and light allows the viewer into the intricate, intertwined data flow that is the living world. There are moments of quiet, moments of cataclysmic overwhelm, and subtle moments throughout time. This stripped down system provides another way into our living world, provides a way for the viewer to process varying durations and timescales.
