Edgar Wright and Drew Goddard
So Edgar Wright is no longer directing 'Ant-Man' and Drew Goddard has ditched Marvel's/Netflix's 'Daredevil'.
Can we throw some more money Joss Whedon's way and have him sign a binding contract post haste?!
This is not good. Not good at all. Edgar Wright had been attached to make 'Ant-Man' since 2006 - back when Marvel Studios was just beginning to make a name for itself. With it being reported that Marvel Studios is planning to make it's summer 2015 release date for Ant-Man, it's leaving some to believe that the parting of ways between Edgar and Marvel occurred awhile ago. It's hard to imagine Marvel Studio's being confident about the release date had they not already found a replacement for Edgar.
Another lost for Marvel is by way of Drew Goddard who had signed on to show-run Netflix's 'Daredevil." Having agreed to take on the directorial duties for the 'Sinister Six' flick over at Sony however, Goddard had to relinquish his duties and hand them over to Steven DeKnight - both Buffy The Vampire Slayer alums.
