Not gonna lie, as someone who grew up in special Ed myself, I was maybe two episodes into Sherlock and Co before deciding definitively, “yeah, this was a special Ed kid.”
Therefore, I kind of headcanon that part of the reason Sherlock struggled in school is because a. The academic stunting that comes from being in a setting that’s way more concerned with social skills than being able to live as a self sufficient adult, and b. Growing up in that environment does things to you, guys.
tldr. This is not a man who saw a lot of gen Ed classrooms growing up.
