Nimroden Triade
I... had a small outcome, perhaps a new turn of the wheel in the perception of forms, sensitivity and faces - it seems to me that I am blind to them, but I found a way to see at least in parts. Two more covenants were accomplished - and their master now looks different, too, to match both new house and my vision.
Edwardis, as always... Makes me swoon - on the new part, I tried to work out more clearly the relevance and theme of their vestments, and now the owner of the house is dressed in something between the Anglo-Saxon and Nordic tonality.
Takhisis is complex, but I tried to draw her according to my own mother - at the same time, the matriarch of the family personalizes Charet more than ever - I wonder why?;)
With the snake itself, no dramatic changes have arisen since the last time - the same Israeli-Ottoman tones, but his face differs for me over and over again, features jump from one side of the spectrum, then to the other - feminine and masculine, sharp and sensual, full and subtle, and I reassure myself that this is the whole of Charet, and this is peculiar to him - I can only endure.
.. Um. He is not? He is not a warrior, he is the administrator of the aurd. In his own eyes, he is a householder to a greater extent, it was his conscious choice, for which he fought and defended. As for Tizian, Edwardis's appearance was both a challenge to the outside world and an assertion to himself - he openly refuses to be perceived as a man of the continent, in the past - a mercenary and an invader. He considers himself primarily a father and husband, for him it means living and providing loved ones with a life of comfort and care, and his appearance is a clear reflection of his intentions and expectations in relation to himself.
In the dungeons of Saugunt, where he was obliged to provide support to his family in a more versatile way, he looked sharp and predatory, and more inclined towards forgotten habits - such periods in his life happen, but this is not him, and such a situation is stressful, unpleasant and traumatic for him, and, despite the fact that he endures them steadfastly and courageously, attaching roles and motives to him that are not inherent in him is, well... Not very good.
Femininity is not something shameful and inappropriate, especially not in this particular fantasy setting - I enjoy creating contrasting and multifaceted characters, men, women, and others. Edwardis not only grew in a traditionally continental upbringing, despite the fact that he perfectly fit into this picture of the world, he received just as much burden from this, and the opportunity to change this picture - not only adopting the culture of his wife, but also changing his name, was the best outcome. With his old lifestyle, he couldn't have become the good dad he is now, and, well, in his case, it was mutually exclusive o----o
Edwardis in his own way does not fit into the setting, but this is his beauty and value in history - thanks to him, the Archon is able to perceive the world in a duality and multifaceted manner, they can see it outside the concepts in which they were born, as much as Edwardis is able to accept things that contradicted everything he knew before. Why at all perceive them according to ready-made concepts and cultural views, if this advance cuts off the possible sides of the characters?
Edwardis is predatory and sharp, he is full of deceit and dark secrets - and he is also the closest person to Archon, who is ready to do anything for the happiness of his family, for them he is the personification of parenting, tenderness and love, comfort and stability, trust and safety. And also of good taste, prudence and maturity, and the ideal of a man, father and husband, in principle at all, because in their eyes he never betrayed these concepts. They perceive all LI turning to his image, and most of those around him try to equal him to the same extent, because, well.. Everyone in Nimrode knows who he is and what he does.
To devalue him as a man and a father because he looks wrong is the same as devaluing a woman in his place for her figure, lifestyle, temperament, values or profession. My mother/parent was engaged in physical work all her life, which left a mark not only on how they look, but also on how they perceive, behave and position themselves, yet she did not become less dear and beloved to me for this. If something influenced us negatively, it was the need for society to assess them and hang up their own judgments.
But we have passed this form of thinking a long time ago, aren't we?;) It is in my values that a man equally has the opportunity to look and behave the way it suits him, and not to devalue him for it. I do not pretend that men should fall under my vision of attractiveness - but I want to show that they are also gentle and beautiful, worth admiring for their home and family development, they are worth being looked after and shown respect - not such as is accepted, but sensitive and humane sort. Regardless of their presentation, such men are valid and worthy to be parents and lovers. There are also transgender and gender fluids fathers - they do not become worse as parents from this, although, well, I understand that you have a clear cultural and associative perception;з
In general, I noticed that lately I have been getting more of this kind of feedback - this is very good, it seems to me that it means that I am able to bring something new and valuable. And funny, by the way, too. Edwardis literally was written from Mads Mikkelsen, aka his super-neutral, stilistic feminine and extremely sophisticated version, and he wears clothes that were typical of medieval men. Historically, men generally traditionally wore exactly those things that are now considered exclusively feminine - bright colors, abundant embroidery and lace, corsets and heels, makeup and wigs. Edwardis's lack of undershirt and the open neckline should have been a reference to his wife's past design, the off-the-shoulder, and they have paired earrings with her, but overall it was a very successful and accurate design in my eyes that suits him wonderfully ;)
Thank you for message, @sandpixieden! It's all very personal and feather-ruffling and I love to talk about it!! >////<
Secundan Gothic
Chapter I: Ouroboros
It was alike to a falling - the power of the earth is immense and painful, and it pulls down, down to the bottom of essentiality, to the bottom of the universe. And the abyss - a lost, black place of timelessness and variability, and there was only this - dances of fevers, the movement of the flesh as a single organism, the coexistence of pain and pleasure in terms of our unlife, yet the most primitive of all. It was the world of the Logos, the world of desires - that was all my mind could reach, and my flesh moved with the rest of us.
It is our breathing, and we are flesh, and we are connected by blood flowing among, like a children in the womb - and this is the worst act of violence of all. To be conceived, to be nurtured by him - the master of our selfhood, the lord of everything that blind serpent eyes touched. I was one of my thousands of brothers and sisters, and I wasn't alike to any of them - but I was the same serpent among them, devoured and was devoured, and in this act was our knowledge - the mysteries of the universe and the primary nature of the Logos.
I had no face, my mind flowed and moved along with the waves of smells and blood, and the flesh - immense, boundless, was connected with everyone else. The abyss was a terrible place. The abyss was my womb - but also the end point of what once was. Formation was waiting for me, liberation from primacy - when my flesh was fed up, when separation awaited us.
The separation did not come. I felt our master - within me, just as I myself was nurtured by him, but still the end of his burden did not come. My place was here, I managed to know the depth - but my knowledge was interrupted.
Solemn rite has begun.
First came an indescribable heaviness - the heaviness of human flesh. Khaan was empty. I wanted to pull off the skin like a suffocating veil. There was nothing human in me, nothing rational - my whole being hung then, in the timelessness and absoluteness of the physical domain, where everything was one, and now the cold was waiting for me - separation was waiting. It was terrible to be empty - not filled with life-giving khaan, it was terrible to be alone - a being of only one voice. Being, not just flesh.
Hands touched me - cold and alien, but familiar for some reason, somewhere there, before my birth, before my nature. Where they moved, I felt existence—as if my limbs had overcome the numbness, and there was too much and too little at the same time. I felt the flesh pressing harder and harder - unnaturally, the lungs opened like a butterfly, the cold of the air burned both inside and out, I felt the movement of blood - and the thrill of everything that is humane and physical, the flesh was clear to me - and almost forgotten.
Their words sounded too loud, too bright, one - rustling and sharp, the other - melodious and heavy, and from how it cut my head from fullness everything buzzed and hurt, I could speak only with tongues of fire - I did not know any of others. Both heat and cold beat me, my mind moved in a spiral yet could not find a way out - and then I sighed, as if emerging from the water column, and clarity came to me - sharp-cold, like the frosty air of this earth. Nimrode.
Once I was called by this name - the name of the clan, in the tomb of which I ended up. My voice was low - there was a cry of pain in it, distorted and inhuman, and realizing it, I calmed down, frozen in the movement of the mind - thoughts poured cold water on my damned head. My hand, heavy and irregular, reached out to my mouth, where it froze in mute horror, and bile danced in my throat. I opened my eyes - nothing protected me from the candles of the tomb, gloomy and dark - but so far away, too spacious, and I covered my face with my hands - curled up I lay on my side and breathed deeply and heavily - the ribs buzzed, pressed on my nature from all parts. Beneath me was a silky, wet khaan. They fed my god with it, they conceived me again. I was not filled, my knowledge was not completed, and with it, my “I” did not fall into its place. Everything was wrong, everything was horror-filling and cruel, and existence was a nightmarish burden for which I was not ready.
I move away from those things that have been closer to me and more often lately - I have more need for the surrounding relationships and family matters, and I feel the responsibility to provide as much support as I can in cold and difficult times.
I am gradually, deeply working on Secundan Gothic (aka, the RPG sequel to the first Secunda оwо), or at least those things that my hands and possibilities can reach at the moment. I don’t think I will be able to post as many drawings on free topics in the next time - but my love and inspiration are great, and I wanted to ask..
How about doing some headcanons and requests for our LI and the rest of the characters?
My ask is always open under all circumstances, and I would love to write - albeit in a small way, and I feel the need to interact more - maybe I will send some lists for starters later, how do you think?;зз
Hello~ Please feel free to ignore it, I'm not sure if you are comfortable with asks~
Thank you for writing Secunda, it is absolutely lovely, but i was so sad, i finally met my love Tizian in person and it ended, so cruel ❤
I am absolutely in love with everybody, but Tizian, Charet and for me as a player especially, Edwardis completely has my hart in his hands❤
I have a little thoughts on my favorites, if you interested to see my perspective❤
Tizian was so dark and lovely, the scene where Archon releases his hair down made my heart go squeeze, it was so gentle.
Charet was so deliciously wicked, i would let her devour my heart completely, plus i love snakes, so i can't resist his snake hugs❤
And Edwards, my heart went to him the moment i saw him and was still with him when i finished reading. If i didn't play his child, even though i know he is taken, i would do everything for him to notice me, I've fallen in love with him completely (I think you said he is fine with men as well, unless it is changed). Plus i saw your latest vision of him, where dark color changed to more patterns and light fabrics and he feels so much happier, it made me feel so nice❤
Thank you so much for sharing your amazing maker, it is an honor to have a character with your breathtaking style❤
I've made my Archon(he/him) a vain little thing, with black and gold around his eyes, pretty white silks and black pearls. Let's they when they decided to drop a tower on me, i was not amused, they have no right to bruise his pretty face
Thank you so much for sharing it, it is so nice to imagine my archon looking like that and having an image of him in your style.
Sorry, if it was a little long, i had so many emotions after finishing reading, they just needed to go somewhere. I hope you are doing well and having happy holidays❤
*dreamy sigh*
I spent so much time rereading this ask that I’m even ashamed to admit, but it helped me in a slow and difficult time - it filled me up and inspired in its own way, seemed close and sensual, and so refreshing - meeting new people is always infinitely pleasant, because each acquaintance - by nature, it can be the beginning of something absolutely beautiful.
khm-
Greetings! Thank you so, so much for your message! In no way I could not answer it - despite the fact that it took me more time and sensitivity to form this very words, but I want you to know that I am infinitely glad to meet you *-----*
Due to some physical situation in matters of equipment, I understand that the project that I have been writing about lately - an immersive RPG based on Secunda, will not be able to see the light of day in any near future, therefore.. Now I am working on Tizian's book - a direct continuation of the "Story of the North", and I would like to think that this project will be able not only to come out next year, but also to fill and delight your sensuality and interest in this work!! Tizian is cruel in his sensuality, and unforgiving in his tenderness - perhaps we will have more opportunity to learn much more about him in the near future?;зз
It was terribly interesting and warm to read your thoughts about the characters, my head is empty and there are no words to describe>/////< This is so personal, and gives such a brutal sense of togetherness - but I hope that I will not crush you with my answer and feelings. Edwardis, in truth, is also the most special for me of all, it seems to me - I adore each of the Secundans, but working with him I experience something unique, very close and deep in so many keys. I thought for a long time how it would be more subtle and correct to show his character in these sides of sensuality, to conceive and show his closeness and sensitivity - I can only hope that I will have more opportunity to portray him in the following chapters, in a variety of scriptures - in I also have thoughts about changing faces in the story, so this may be the beginning of something special.
I would equally be infinitely glad to have the opportunity to write about him and just like that, in the concept of the ask - it was not for nothing that I wrote in my headcanon alphabets that I accept questions about absolutely each of the characters (and now I look at you very respectfully, if you have such desires ;з)
And I have a very special feeling of tenderness when I see the original characters from my makers, especially in the Secunda setting - I allowed myself to interpret your Archon a little in one of my works, and although lately it has been colorless and blind, I hope that it is still turns out to be a nice little addition to this answer;)
I am infinitely, absolutely and completely glad that you not only felt something for my work, but also decided to share and manifest your self in this message - a huge, infinite thank you, which cannot be described in any tones of language!
Holidays seem to pass me by at this time - but I wish you the very best days, each of them being better than the past;зз
~Secundan Gothic~
Oh, and who is this? A terrific and dark couple - Edwardis and Takhisis, Lords of Nimrode. Your most worthy, most adoring companions - and supportive, loving parents.
Their contrast with the delicate, light Veela is very bright - and I hope they help make the evening of your character absolutely gorgeous;з The amount of adoration that awoke in me when I wrote them cannot be described - and my work is full of pleasure~~
Oh! And don’t forget that my inbox is always open, feel free to ask anything if something piques your interest - I adore it when you do so;зз
Thank you so much and have the sweetest day;***
I specifically checked where I used the word "warrior" in the text of Secunda, because, oh, I need to think about it well>//////<
In general, there are nine of them throughout the book - four times this was exclusively applicable to Tizian:
..My sorcerer was a warrior of the far, far south - his skin is like copper, his black hair streams like snakes on his dark shoulders.
..He was furious and powerful, but just as defenseless in the cold cold as everyone else - the longer the years go, the more he fears emptiness and loneliness, that he will bear his burden himself. A warrior on his own, a coven lord without a right hand, a father without a spouse, a land without a master, a sire and cold, like this world.
..He greeted me sometimes the way warriors greet each other - with a wish of victory, touching his temple with swarthy fingers. (this one is actually reference of georgian/colchis greetings! how cute!)
..I suspect that he knew about this - that a violent head would lead him to a position much more unstable and unsafe than just the nameless leader of the mob, a warrior in a treacherous field.
And this is a very vivid manifestation of his nature (very violent and aggressive in the eyes of the outside world, although Tizian is much more complex and versatile thant that) and relates directly to his occupation, or his connection and person in his culture. Sometimes this word is directly related to negative experiences, along with the words "ruffian", "cutthroater" and "criminal".
Once Margot admits this to the Archon:
- ..You are a warrior, a ruler, these are the marks of the worthy and survivors, you do not need to be afraid of them.
Because the Archon in the previous scene experienced a traumatic and dangerous experience, they found themselves in a new, very hostile to them, environment - just like Margot was a survivor in her new world. Margot perceives the Archon as a warrior, since violence and destruction are one of the sides of their social position, one of the tools that they must use for the sake of their coven. Moreover, Margot perceives himself as a warrior, and this seems to be no less important in this dialogue - that they confirms not only the value of the current Archon, but also his burdens and actions in the past.
Once - when Archon compares Edwardis with Tizian (things are very complex here, for both of them)
- ..You are not like my father - you are not an weed in the field, and you are not a warrior of his lone name, but I must accept and love you in everything that you have - or not love you at all.
Edwardis survived the death of his clan at an early age, and his entire adult life before meeting Takhisis was those where existence in itself is associated with war, torment and violence, he was raised and placed in this way, and there was no one in his life who could offer him something else. Unlike Tizian, Edwardis had no other knowledge and opportunities, and, more importantly, he did not have a family - before this scene, the Archon learns about Rakhyl and emphasizes that Tizian has much more important and valuable ways to prove himself.
And three times - in relation to Edwardis in Archon's reflections.
..For father the answer was simple and understandable - he is a warrior from the far south, although he spent a hundred years on Nimrode, his soul did not know attachment to this land - only to his family.
..In my eyes, these are just dreams, but my mother also dreamed similar to the beginning of her life - about centuries of blood on the continent, and about a sorcerer-falcon, a warrior in his own right.
..He did not have any special hopes for our future, daydreaming was by no means his trait, but he was a warrior, and the most furious in our coven, no matter how nice and affectionate he was with us.
And all three times the word "warrior" belongs to him in the past tense, because this is not how he perceives himself. He is violent, he is cruel and cold-blooded - but these things are opposed to his family qualities, his external picture differs from the internal, like Tizian's. Here it would even be worthwhile to use the word not “opposed”, but “despite”, since the Archon accepts both sides of his world.
The context of these passages:
1. The archon asks their parents if they are afraid of future migration - but, to a greater extent, they turn to their mother, as they emphasize that, due to their origin from another land, for Edwardis Nimrod does not have such a serious importance than for Takhisis , whose blood line has lived in this place for more than a millennium. At the same time, Edwardis's backstory is also highlighted.
2. The archon discusses with Takhisis visions about their soulmate - Tizian. The past Edwardis is described first of all as a sorcerer, in the second - as a falcon (for he is from the bird people, a harpy, and so people called him), and then - as a "warrior in his own right", emphasizing his then occupation, and detachment from anything. This is an important sense of retrospective, the connection between the past and the present father, since in this scene the Archon also thinks about the nature of Tizian - and about the nature of their relationship, since in this world kindred souls can be equally as damned enemies, and eternal, the most valuable and closest lovers and brothers in arms.
But, to be honest and fair, where the most information is provided with Edwardis - namely, in the dungeons of Saugunt during the epidemic, Edwardis is going through, in general, a very traumatic experience in his life - opaque hints are given to his madness and awakened predation. His child was crippled and could die, his home is thousands of leagues from this place, he does not feel his position and safety, his family is in cramped quarters next to seriously ill people in the midst of tuberculosis outbreak. Still, in these scenes, despite a very vivid depression, dehumanization and the disclosure of the worst sides of Edwardis, he is more described as a surgeon (because this is his second profession, in aurd he also takes the role of a doctor when necessary, since he has a talent of restoration), and is engaged in precisely the treatment, and not forays out or attempts to break through the city walls.
And Edwardis fundamentally does not use weapons, even when the Archon and his wife (a ritualist, by the way) do not disdain this - he is a harpy, a mythical creature, and along with Margot (thin and gentle, the most feminine and soft of all LIs) can tear people into pieces with bare hands, and his concepts of strength and resistance are not comparable to human ones, because they are different species.
He does not use magic outside of the healing aspects, and resorts to violence as a final outcome rather than as a profession, role or position.
Thank you so much for the answers, @sandpixieden! Truly! It is interesting for me to discuss these things, and I appreciate this opportunity very deeply - I just come across completely different in their boundaries opinions about my work, and it would be good if I can emphasize this in the most solid of all possible aspects. My language is very fluid and figurative, so a lot of things can be unclear - especially considering that with my stream of consciousness I don't always remember everything I think or say>/////<
