Concentrated on an island off the east coast of the Atisarala Passage
Not known to travel far
Used to be regular birds
Experimental mana infused into the water supply of the island
The birds and plants had a reaction to the magic
Plants showed signs first
Other animals did not survive the experiment
Diet mostly consists of nuts, berries, and seeds but can handle lean and white meat
If they eat red meat, it could make them sick
Sub-species that take after raptors/ birds who can consume red meat have a tolerance
Have the internal anatomy of a bird
Even in humanoid form
In humanoid form, they have an extra set of pectoral muscles to operate their wings
Very superficial
Make quick judgements of character
Are hard to befriend
Do not wander far from flocks when making relationships
Many species cannot mesh well with their nature
Devote nature
Can become devote to hobbies, religion, lifestyles, studies, etc.
Hyperfocus can be good or bad regardless
Can become a toxic self-righteous attitude if not given checks and balances

Skin is either a ghostly white to dusty grey or mocha to copper tone
Not much in between or darker
Hair is always a shade or variant of purple
Indigo and magenta are rare, but the furthest variation of purple seen
Eye color ranges from daisy yellow to burnt orange
Very high magical prowess
Second only to djin in how much mana they possess
Causes them to involuntarily hover and float around
Must learn to walk and stay grounded
Very poor maneuvering skills when grounded mostly
Can only go about twice their height at a maximum
If they try to go higher, they flutter back down to within their limit

Either have it or you don’t
Usually discover it between the ages of 3-5 years for most species
There is no known species to have absolutely no magical capabilities
Ocianci and Vieliers are the ones to have the least amount
Each species varies to what type of magic they have a natural affinity for
Elves: high affinity for elemental magic; secondary affinity to planar rifts/shifting
Avinian: high affinity for mana sensing & absorbtion
Within species, affinity varies between races
Alkimia: high affinity for planar rifts/shifting & psychic magic
Deabru: high affinity for abir magic
Within species, affinity varies between races
Vielier: high affinity for nature magic
Ocianci: high affinity for aquatic magic
Djin: depends on the magic that created them; affinity to all magic
Fae: high affinity for morphology & mana manipulation
Human: high affinity to summoning magic
Monstroa: high affinity to uluros magic
Magic is separated into Ancient Mana and Modern Mana
Differences are mainly in how long residual mana lasts before being reabsorbed and what it costs to cast spells
Ancient Mana: magic used before the Monstroa extinction
Magic that uses Ancient Mana utilizes physical strength and well being
The mana residuals are thick and often physically palpable
Reason why a large amount of it can create djin
Makes it hard for it to be reabsorbed by the earth
Would make areas contaminated by large amounts of ancient magic
Made it either inhabitable to weaker mortals &/or popped out a djin
Species that could survive in magic pilluted areas: djin, monstroa, alkimia
Only instance seen where ancient mana didn’t make a place inhabitable was when it was paired with experimental modern mana on a remote island
Birth of avinians
Modern Mana: created during the Monstroa extinction and used and developed further afterwards
Magic that utilizes Modern Mana ulitlizes neurological activites
Primarily those that control emotions and imagination
Residuals are light and never feel heavier than a spec of dust
Easier to be absorbed and/or dissolved by the earth

Even if areas are containminated by large concentrations of modern mana, it will be habitable
Ancient Mana felt more like chemical burns when a person came into contact with residuals while Modern Mana can have no reactions
Unless in extremely high concentrations
Djin are the only creatures to solely use Ancient Mana still
Alkimians slowly adapted to utilizing Modern Mana more than Ancient Mana
