The Lands of Evig Dyr

When forgotten spirits reemerge, the scars of betrayal resurface. Tears will eternally stain the floor until the light and dark bleed to create a new force that will free the world from eternal blight.

How far are you willing to go to seek justice when you’re wronged? What lengths will you go to in order to earn forgiveness? Four people caught amid a conflict going back a thousand years must learn tolerance and forgiveness or destroy what they wanted to protect.

My name is M.P. Furo, the author. Eternal Entities is a high fantasy novel that I’ve been working on for a while. While I am still writing, I wanted to share some of the joys I have that come from this vast magical world.

Vanajja

Returning to the island, she wouldn't go to the Lighthouse that she had made her home with the Captain. She would go to the pub in the town. The restaurant the cook of her old crew started and where that very same crew always met up. She burst through the door, causing the establishment to go quiet before the crew seated at the long table in the back all let out a roarous cheer. The child they had adopted was finally back.

Valgus

The Crown Prince would return to the palace looking like a peasant. His royal markings the only thing that convinced the guards to let him in. He didn't want to hear the disapproving lecture from his father, nor the well meant but still disappointed words from his mother. The servants would bathe him and dress him in more luxury attire. Then, Valgus would go to his room and out to the balcony. There he'd climb up onto the palace roof and look out towards the lake on palace grounds. He'd stare like that until the moon and water couldn't be separated from each other.

Aavistus

(So this is before he met Valgus and went to the palace)

The raven would fly into the small crevice that led to the hidden attic space. The music from the small theater next door to the abandoned building he made a nest staved off the lonely silence. He'd transform into a more humanoid form to walk up to the bundle of downy fluff curled into a ball in the middle of the nest. Tattered blankets and pillows with any plush long flattened cradled his baby sister. He found a place next to her, careful not to wake the young thing. He covered her with one of his wings and tried to fall asleep himself.

Nağme

(This is after she met Valgus and now lived in the palace)

Another night of performances finished, and the thrill of the crowd still pulsed in her veins. She would skip down the palace halls, waving to the occasional servant on night duty as she goes. She'd take a quick detour to the kitchen to grab a late snack for her and her brother. She knows he would still be awake pouring over a magic book forgetting to feed himself. She would fly up the winding stairwell to the mage's tower and go in without knocking. At first her volume would reflect the energetic mood of her's, but once she saw her big brother slumped over his desk asleep she'd silence herself. His share of the snack would be gently placed next to his book pillow as Nağme draped a blanket over him. He would awaken soon, no doubt, and when he does she will he there to chatter away.

Palsu

Home? What is a home? They wouldn't be able to tell you. At one century, they would have called the breeze over a river it's home. In another one, a cave system connected to an abandoned mine was his home. And even years after that, the meadows and forests outside a palace was his home. The thing they all had in common: family and friends. People that Palsu cared for were there to welcome him to that place in space and time. Now...now he was stuck in what many would label his true "home". The vessel that restores his life was where he had been restricted to for the past few centuries and where he was sent back to. All that was there though were the memories of his homes of millenia past. All they could do was trick themselves by playing illusions of their life with their old loved ones. That is what it will do until it finds a new "home".

Eternal Entities: Species Study - Deabru

Found in the northern mountain valleys and continent

Came south in the past 600 years

Do not know when they appeared exactly

Were rarely seen before they started to migrate south

Omnivorous creatures that are ovoviviparous

The gametes of the deabru are a lot stronger than most other species

Able to impregnate other species but very difficult to be impregnated by another species

Hierarchy based on how closely an individual’s magical and physical strength resembles the extinct monstroa

Deabru has many similar sub0species to monstroa

Familial bonds are very strong in the species

Very rare for conflicts to occur within broods

Siblicide, and similar instances are far and few between

Lean towards matriarchy but patriarchal views are present

Have the capability to live up to 100 years

Heights range from 5 feet (152 cm) to 8 feet (243 cm)

Much more humanoid in appearance than their monstroa ancestry, but far more animalistic than their vielier cousins

While they can look almost completely human, most will still have characteristics of mundane animals even in their humanoid form

Fangs, horns, tails, etc.

Mostly oblong pupils

Very aggressive nature

Increases when they feel their brood has been threatened

Even when they show positive emotions, they are aggressive

Strong physical attributes and magical prowess

Masters of abir magic

Learn to control it as they age up

Improper guidance will lead to it becoming unstable

Some sub-species of deabru:

Muted Chimera: lion head and torso with ram horns and scales with back half of a goat, dragon wings, and a snake tail

Sclera takes the color of their iris when casting high levels of abir magic

Flight, fire breath

Gorgon: humanoid upper body with lower half of a snake

May or may not have snakes as/a part of their hair

Have the ability to turn those they make eye contact with into stone

Appear shorter when moving, but “stand” to full height when still

Orcs/Oni: humanoid with large stature, tusks, and horns

Physical strength makes up for weaker magic

One-track mind

Succubus/Incubus: humanoid with spined tail, bat wings, and fangs

Easily can pass as human

Gargoyle: similar humanoid appearance to orcs, made of stone, bat wings, spined tail, pig-like facial features

Tough hide

Harpies: large bird with the head and breast of a female humanoid and a beak

Although they all look female, some are male

Ear bleeding calls

Syrens: upper half humanoid with gills, fin ears, large fangs, and boney fish lower half

Only aquatic deabru

Weave their abir magic into a song

Goblins: small green humanoid creatures with enlarged noses and pointed ears

Barely 5 feet tall

High stamina

Imps: beady eyes humanoids with leather wings and spined tails with large claws
