Vape review/question from someone who doesn’t really know shit about vaping?
So I got an Ego One 2200mAh a while ago and used it for a little while, lost it, then went back to smoking.
About a month ago, my boyfriend and I made a joint effort to quit smoking. I found my Ego One and got the replacement coils for it. One was a 1.0 ohm and the other was a .5 ohm, pretty much was told the .5 would give a better “cloud” or whatever. Again, I really know nothing about vapes because I’m a newbie.
The battery life is amazing, the vapor production is amazing. I think this is fantastic for beginners because you don’t change any of the voltage settings or anything, you just change the airflow (more airflow= more vapor). I have some sweet freaking 0mg nicotine juice in there (which is a mixture of banana nut bread and thin mints).
So I had the 1.0 in there and I fell in love. It’s my 2nd vape (I had a SMOK pen that crapped out after a little less than a month and I’m 85% sure they don't even sell them anymore) and it’s 1000x better than my first. (Boyfriend just got one to replace his shitty mod and now I remember it was a hell of alot cheaper, too). I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the 1.0 coil.
It burnt out after 1 1/2 weeks- 2 weeks of very heavy use, so I switched it to the .5. Well....the .5 is a lot different. I have noticed a real difference in vapor production, and flavor wise, it was different immediately. I soaked the coil for a good 15 minutes before trying it, and it did NOT taste right. I couldn’t put my finger on what it was. Maybe 5 minutes later, the tank got really really hot and it tasted burnt. I let it cool down and tried again, and it was fine for about 4 hits before it tasted like a burnt marshmallow again.
I tried looking up online how to fix this, and I wouldn’t “chain vape” it and I kept the airflow as minimal as possible. It still heats up and then tastes burnt after a very little amount of use, but is fine when it cools down. I have learned it mostly does this when the tank is about half empty. If I fill the tank up completely and “prime” the coil every time, it’s fine. When the tank reaches half empty, the burnt taste comes back.
Anyone know why it does this? Was it a shitty coil, or was it something I did? Can someone who actually knows a thing or two tell me how to fix this?
