I’m hoping to make new friends :)

While this post is directed towards students who will live on campus, this list is basically about being responsible as you grow older, which is something we must all do:
On move-in and move-out days, wear comfortable/exercising clothes. You will be hauling your stuff up and down stairs and/or elevators, and you will be going inside and outside. Wear comfortable clothing (AND SHOES) on these days.
If you have a roommate (or more), take a deep breath, introduce yourself, and exchange your contact information.
It’s okay if you don’t get along with your roommate(s) immediately. You are only beginning to know each other. In the words of Lemony Snicket, “I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed this, but first impressions are often entirely wrong.”
…But hey, sometimes they’re not and if you have a conflict with your roommate that you cannot solve by rational discussion, contact your RA and let them know what’s going on.
Never, ever let your roommate (really, anyone) take advantage of you. If they are bringing people over that are making you uncomfortable, let them know! If they do not respect you, your space, or your stuff let them know! If they do not stop, request a roommate change. Please, don’t let them steamroll over you. Do something to solve the situation. Don’t be passive!
Do not make a habit of drinking or smoking. If you already do, now’s the time to reconsider.
Don’t spend all your free time in your room. Explore your campus and find several study spots that you can access when your roommate is having a party on the night before one of your mid-term exams.
Do not feel obliged to drink with your friends. If they can’t respect your choices, they’re not really your friends. Stop lying to yourself.
Living on campus gives you more time to explore your school and the city around it. Go out for a walk! Visit local coffee shops, public libraries, and immerse yourself in the culture of the city around you. You will find very interesting people!
Always be cautious when going on walks alone. Always be cautious in general. Life is not a indie summer movie and you should always be aware of your surroundings.
Take advantage of campus events with free food and free stuff! You know that student activity fee? This is part of where your tuition is going!!!
Always lock your room.
Believe it or not, making your bed after you get up can make you feel more organized and less stressed. (This is coming from someone who has always thought it was pointless to make my bed.)
If you have a stove or oven in your room, always check it before you leave or go to sleep! During my junior year, my roommate left the oven on 5 TIMES over the course of two semesters. PLEASE be careful.

july ninth | 1/100 days of productivity
I decided I wanted to try my hand at the 100 days of productivity challenge now that summer’s left me with more time to lounge around. My main goal is to practice my handwriting and calligraphy so they can both improve by the time the new semester starts!

It's amazing to see studyblrs who are just freshmen in high school (and even younger) who are so motivated and so accomplished already. Seriously, you guys are awesome!!
Dia duit! Hi!
I’m Martha and I’m from Northern Ireland. I’ve been skirting round the edges of studyblr for a while, and I decided to finally join! I hope that studyblr will keep me focused, inspire me, and help me to keep my eye on my goals.
About me ✨ I’m 16 years old ✨ I start A Levels at the end of August (if all my GCSEs went well *fingers crossed*) ✨ I’m a Slytherin and INFP ✨ I’m trying to learn Irish at the moment. I love learning about my culture and the way I see it using random Gaeilge words in the middle of English sentences is a success!
My Subjects (hopefully anyway) in the year 2017-2018) ✨ English Lit ✨ History ✨Government and Politics ✨ RS
I LOVE Harry Potter, Brooklyn 99, Doctor Who, and BBC Sherlock. I also sometimes play badminton (for the craic).
Some of my favourite blogs are: @teenytinyhermione @irishlanguagelearners @peachystudy @stationeryhoe-highlighter-kink @gaeilge101 @seamusstudies
My inbox is always open so don't hesitate to send me a message, and if you’re a studblr please like or reblog this because I need more blogs to follow :D
hey!! i'm looking for a planner to use for next school year, what brands would you recommend?
i really like bloom and orange circle!
