studyblr: meet... me!

The idea for and structure of this introduction post is shamelessly taken from @lifesci! 

Hi! I’m Elle, and this is my studyblr. I’ve had many personal accounts on tumblr over the years, and a fanfic account (primarily Harry Potter and Criminal Minds) that’s reasonably active when I’m not drowning in work, but never a studyblr.

About me: 

Second-year PhD student. I do interdisciplinary work, at the junction of engineering and psychology 

I am 23 years old and a Pisces

I am American

Why a studyblr?

I like announcing to the world, “Hey! I did this thing, and I’m really proud of it!” and sometimes that thing just isn’t impressive to most people. I also like showing off the (rare) pretty pages from my bullet journal. I also like taking pictures of the comically large stacks of books I somehow manage to surround myself with. 

I like knowing that I’m not the only one drowning in journal articles or spilling coffee down themselves or whatever.

Studyblr introduction

Hi everybody, my name is Luis but my nickname is Luis, i already explained why I got into the studyblr community in the last post and this is my official introduction to the community( Pardon the grammar mistakes, english is not my native language but I’m doing my best to improve it, feel free to dm me, I really want to make new friends and pratice some languages)

About me:

I live in Brazil, where the college system is kind of different, for example you can study med or law without any undergraduate degree first, I’m doing a preparatory course to study med at the moment.

I really love tea more than anything.

I’m getting into minimalism and fitness.

I’m 18 years old but will be turning nineteen in a couple of days (27/06)

I’m fluent in portuguese and have an intermediate level in English, French and I’m learning Korean.

Interests:

I absolutely love watching K-dramas.

I’m really into chill musics, and will post some recommendations of playlists i love.

I’m really into Calisthenics, i love it and it’s a fun way of getting some exercise.

I’m a really big foodie, and love to learn new recipes, right now i’m trying to come up with a diet that works with my routine.

One of my favourite things to study is Geopolitics.

Goals:

I really want to discipline myself and keep a healthy balance between my studies and the rest of my life

I want to complete the 100 days of productivity challenge

I want to come up with a method of organizing my days(I’ve tried journaling, but it didn’t work as well with my, but i might try another time, and right now I’m trying to give a go to a semi-fixed schedule)

Help people that are needing motivation or a little push to start studying and improve their lives

And of course, make a lot of new friends

What?

☆ a daily challenge to get in the habit of doing the boring and not-so-entertaining things that I have on my lists...and may or may not skip over bc i did enough of the fun things [call out for myself]

Why?

☆ more than just being productive, i really want to focus on doing things that i know i SHOULD be doing to work towards a better me...sometimes i end up checking things off a list that’s more of extra fun stuff rather than keeping me healthy and prepared...so I want to find a balance!

When?

☆ This challenge starts September 4th, 2018, which is the day after Labor Day for Americans. I’ll have been back to school for two weeks, so I figure I’ll have enough of a routine that my days won’t just be me book studying anymore. :-]

Post goals:

at the end of every day, I'll make a post w a completed list:

(1) thing to eat or drink every day [for me it’s cod liver oil, ugh]

(1) bedtime goal [definitely 11 pm every night]

(1) wake up goal [no phone usage until I get to school, unless an emergency]

(1) self-care goal [LCO routine for hair every night]

(1) school goal [work on at least one assignment every day, minimum of 30 minutes]

opened my English + Korean New Testament in the library yesterday and was greeted with John 3:16 in many languages. thanking all 700+ of you for following me over the last five weeks. 💫
