Ponyboy adult headcanons because I'm bored
1. Ponyboy would end up doing multiple different jobs like maybe writing for the newspaper, writing a book, volunteer work at the hospital, and on the side being a substitute teacher
I don't see Ponyboy sitting down and doing one thing I like to think he's doing multiple things
2. He goes by Michael because he got tired of explaining over and over again that his official name was Ponyboy and wanted to be taken seriously especially when he was writing for newspaper (He just keeps Ponyboy on his book writing stuff because most think Ponyboy is a pen name)
3. Ponyboy doesn't stay in Tulsa he either goes a state over or goes a couple towns over and he's actually kind of distant with his family over the years they still talk and he still visits just...Not as much as they would probably like him to
4. No kids. He already has enough nieces and nephews from Soda and Darry (I can't decide if he would be child-free too or at least have one)
But man when he does come to visit he does spoil them rotten
5. Bouncing off of the no kids thing but he would have an open door policy where he would allow some of the kids he substitutes to stay If they needed to crash on a couch because he would rather them be safe than sorry
So weekends he's waking up with at least three kids sleeping in his living room and even on week days sometimes there is at least one crashing on his couch
(Ponyboy somehow always ends up making breakfast for kids that aren't even his)
6. Doesn't grease his hair much anymore sometimes for a formal event he would but he kinda just brushes it back or leaves it messy depends if he has to substitute or not
7. Also I think he would just end up being single like I don't see him getting with someone maybe having a few partners but I see him just kind of spending his life being single and happy
