only taking away eleven’s happy ending isn’t a good look when you realise she is the only one out of the main group who was abused and tormented throughout their whole life. the realism excuse doesn’t work here when max gets to walk again, and hopper survived that explosion in s3.

"there was never a version of the story where eleven was hanging out with the gang at the end. for our characters to move on and for the story of hawkins and the upside down to come to a close, eleven had to go away."

this also implies that el was a burden to everybody else & for them to be happy, she has to die. it sends a gross message and with all the other fuck ups recently, i just think the duffers should never write an lgbtq+ character, an abuse victim OR a female character ever again. they clearly have no idea how to navigate that and what they did to el, kali, will, robin and vickie really makes that clear to me.

i’ll always love this show as i grew up with it… but i hope they never get to write complex storylines again 🤷‍♀️

edit: just found out they said they didn’t kill off max because she went through all that trauma and it would be “mean”… the duffer brothers truly never saw el as a human. they saw her as a machine

jane grew up in a fucking LAB do you understand me. she got to experience so many things for the first time so late in life. she was so robbed

imagine her feeling the grass under her feet for the first time.

getting to know what hair feels like on her scalp. slowly watching it grow everyday

getting her first, real hug. the pressure of her friend's chest on her, forgetting all the problems she once had.

the first time a butterfly sit on her, not knowing what insects even are. staring in awe of the colors on its wings.

sitting on a couch, with a hot chocolate and watching a movie for the first time.

seeing leaves, flowers, rivers, trees, clouds for the first time. seeing how colorful the outside world is. hearing birds sing in the summer.

having laughing sessions with her friends where everyone keeps adding onto the joke, until they can't breathe anymore.

the warm feeling of the litteral SUN on her skin for the first time.

Okay, I'm throwing it out there because I've become a WillEl supremacist since last week.

These two scenes are happening at the same time.

Yep, I am calling it. The eventual reconnection between Will & The UD is going to be catastrophic for everyone now that it's broken out into the real world, especially everyone who is connected to the "supernatural" or has psychic abilities. And it's obviously going to be done via Vecna, whatever his intentions or plans are.

El, obviously, in that situation, is going to see a Max situation 2.0 where someone close to her gets taken likely for the same reasons as before and she was not there and could not do anything. It's painful both psychologically and physically. It's a mix of anger, frustation, powerlessness and fear.

The way they treated Jane makes me feel physically ill, like I feel pressure in my chest like I'm gonna puke when I think about it

It's so awful how she was tortured for the entire show. Looking back on a lot of scenes while knowing what her fate is (specifically in season 3) it feels like I'm watching torture porn. It feels like I'm watching a little girl being brutally injured and abused at every turn for no reason other than the D*ffers simply wanted to.

I can't think of a reason for them to do all of that to her and not give her a happy ending, unless they enjoyed it.

I just have this awful gut feeling that I can't shake about it. I don't like to accuse anyone of anything serious, but I really feel like they got off on her suffering in some way...
