DAI: Ancient Elven codices; Din'an Hanin– Elgar’nan Bastion
Codices that have a good degree of certainty, closer to the truth of what happened in the time of the Evanuris. I’ve collected all the codices in the said area and I’ve summarise them in bullet-points and implications. Since everything requires Context, some of them will be accompanied with the current location in the game, in order to give us an extra bit of understanding. I usually add my thoughts at the end of the bullet-point list.
This building was an old elvhen ruin that the Emerald Knights took as their own, for this reason I believe the codices we find in here have little value for us to understand the elvhen lore. However, it allows us to understand the time of Ameridan, and how the world was more mixed when it came to Humans and Elves, producing a cultural blending that will be reflected in the Religion. The information we find here is mostly a romantisation of the Elvhenan culture that the Dalish could rebuilt, filling it with inaccurate concepts and explanations. I compile them here just to see the contrast with the other posts.
This post contains the brief analysis of the following codices/notes

The Death of Elandrin
“Rest now as our honored brother once more. A wreath of daisies at your brow, the letter she carried in your hand. Whoever guides you, whoever guides her, may your souls meet once more in the beyond.“ - Elandrin and Adalene
Dear Bioware, when I said to my friend that I wanted to know the truth about what happened at Red Crossings prior to DA:I’s release, I didn’t mean it was alright for you to rip my heart out with some Starcrossed Lovers and a huge misunderstanding.
Faded blood stains the letter:
Adalene,
What care have I for gods I have never seen, for a Maker I do not know? Let others distract themselves with such lofty concerns. I know only this life, I have seen only this world, and I care only for you.
Perhaps your priestess distrusts the sincerity of "uncivilized" elves. If she must hear me say I will follow the Maker, so be it. Your god intercedes as much as ours. My life will not change.
I will return in two weeks' time. My heart longs for you 'till then, and will remain with you forever after.
Elandrin
