5. Who is the cheesier one of the two?

Definitely El, she doesn’t really understand what things are cheesy and just thinks it’s sweet. Max acts like she doesn’t like it but she secretly loves it.

7. Who's clumsier?

Neither of them are super clumsy but El’s less coordinated than Max, every single time she walks into the doorframe she apologizes to it

8. Who is a morning person? Who is a night owl?

Max is definitely a night owl, El’s more of a morning person but could also stay up late if she wanted. She just likes to see the sunrise and make breakfast

10. Who is always reminding the other not to forget important documents/general things before leaving out the door?

Neither of them are very organized but El bought a notebook and makes cute little to do lists every morning, she’s the one that reminds Max now

How would Hopper react to Elmax?

ok so here are my personal hcs

he’s definitely surprised els in a relationship and even more surprised that its a healthy relationship

at first he wants to keep the two of them away but he realizes how much they mean to each other and comes around

not without a struggle. when hopper tells el he doesnt want her dating she cries for at least an hour

joyce helps hopper realize that its good for both of them and they’re both happy

of course he writes a full essay of rules and the three inches is back (not that she would ever close the door)

hey may or may not have told max that if she hurt el they wouldn’t find her body (she said she’d absolutely understand if he murdered her because el deserves the best)

they will never stop having constant sleepovers but the door is always open and hopper is always home

he still doesn’t know how he feels about el having a girlfriend but understands how much they love each other and doesn’t stop it (but he did tell el that if something goes wrong she should tell him immediately)

the three inches rule is back but neither of them break it ever

max has basically moved in but he doesnt mind (although he is annoyed about the growing price of the hopper-byers family groceries)

32. Who's so affectionate they can't stop touching the other?

El is definitely the more affectionate one, she’s like that with most friends but even more with Max. Max isn’t usually an affectionate person but El is the exception

34. How do they cheer the other one up during sad times?

They both have waaaayyy too much trauma so they’ve gotten good at this. Both of them feel more comfortable talking to each other than someone else so they’ll do that if they feel like it, or just spend time together doing something random. Max likes to cheer El up by making fun of their friends and El makes Max little presents.

39. Do they get along with the other's family? If not, how do they deal with the other's family?

Hopper loves Max, he didn’t even care that El was dating a girl as long as it wasn’t Mike. Max is at their house so often that it’s not noticeable anymore (they have week long sleepovers all the time.) Joyce treats her just like she would one of her kids, and Will and Jonathan like having her around too. 

The first time El met Neil, Max had to tell her not to kill him. She doesn’t exactly hate Susan but doesn’t like her either. She doesn’t go to Max’s house often, but Susan is nice enough, aside from the fact she’s not a great parent.

19. What do they fight about most often? (Alternative: what was their biggest fight?)

Mostly they fight about silly things like what to order for dinner. Their more serious fights are usually misunderstandings. Although before they got together they were in a fight where both of them just accused the other of still liking their exes (Mike and Lucas)

36. Who is more protective? 

They’re definitely both protective, Max insults everybody that’s mean to El (people have cried because of this before). El also does this, partially because she’s not allowed to make them piss themselves. Gonna say El because she would literally kill and die for Max.

Sexuality headcanons for El and Max?

El - unlabeled (def mostly sapphic leaning). I don’t think she’d understand ‘normal’ gender and sexuality much and would like everyone, but she’s definitely a woman liker. (and NOT a mike liker NEVER a mike liker) for her, it’s more about getting to know the person, so im also gonna say demisexual.

Max - bisexual. I don’t have as much max hcs as I do for El but yk I used to be a lumax hater for a while and now I don’t hate it (it’s not my favorite). Saying bi bc depending on the plot I can definitely be convinced into Elumax. However I think she could be lesbian too it’s just depending on the scenario for me.

(also yes I know- i tag them as lesbians all the time. i am a lesbian don’t hate me i am simply ✨ projecting ✨ onto my faves)

What do you think would have happened if Max went to visit El in Cali instead of Mike?

okay so thank you for reminding me about my wip prompt rotting in my docs !! BUT i think max would have insulted the shit out of angela and they would have been able to confide in each other and max wouldnt get vecna’d (they’d also get together because mileven = ASS)

I’m going to write this, one day. Maybe 20 years from now but one day

Uhhh, I really like the sleepover scene simply because its so Girlfriend Coded, same with the bathroom one where Max wipes the blood off El’s face.

The season 2 meet is so ‘she fell first, she fell harder’ coded i like that

I also like the season 4 ending fight scene because it’s so obvious that El and Max’s relationship isn’t just plain friendship but something more, even if not in a romantic way I feel like they are each others favorite person who they’d save

Not explicitly elmax but in season 4 the parallel between them both hating school makes me so sad, they’d be so much happier if they were together still

And that’s just canon I may or may not be insane over them uhhh
