@elriel-month | The Eyes and Ears of the Night Court

Feyre once called Azriel “the knife in the dark,” only for Elain—Elain to be the one to step out of the shadows and kill an ancient king with Azriel’s dagger. Death and the lovely Fawn both embody this imagery of stealth and it isn’t a coincidence that Elain’s gift of Sight complements Azriel’s gift of hearing what others can’t. Together, once Elain’s gifts are trained and honed, they will be a formidable force as the eyes and ears of their court.

I knew as soon as I saw @paulymorphed’s work I had to reach out and collaborate with her. She truly went above and beyond with this piece and captured what I had in mind so exquisitely that it left me speechless. (My caps lock and exclamation mark buttons might beg to differ though 😅)

I’m so excited to share this art for @elriel-month! I just know when Sarah shared the Guilty as Sin song, she was deep into writing some very steamy, secret trysts about Prythian’s prettiest couple (and who could blame her). The song fits so perfectly with Elain and Azriel’s relationship dynamic, and I cannot wait to see the secret meetings between these two in their book! 💕

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; the Elriel BC is one of the hottest things SJM has ever written; on top of the heaps of sexual tension, the yearning, the culmination of build up of four books of longing, you have Azriel questioning his entire religion for this woman, and I cannot wait to see it followed through with in the next book. If this is only a taste of what Elriel can give us, just imagine what their book is going to serve.

We were inspired by the idea of Azriel and Elain meeting at dusk in their favorite hidden spot in nature (maybe even near Rosehall 🌹). There’s something so timeless about a whimsical princess and a handsome, loyal man meeting in secret till the day they can be openly in love. Nothing will break them, neither external forces nor villains. And their unwavering commitment despite all obstacles will triumph in the end.

We cannot thank cally.draws enough for her incredible talent and for this breathtaking Elriel piece. We cannot stop staring!

And set in a romantic wedding aesthetic, Azriel adorns Elain's finger with a beautiful ring that was made of love, and for love and beauty, Elain should wed.
