Henry. County Coronavirus update.

Henry County now has 456 Covid-19 infections, 11 deaths, and 54 hospitalizations. Georgia now has 971 deaths from Covid 19 and nearly 24, 000 total infections up nearly 5000 since Governor Kemp announced he would reopen nonessential businesses last Tuesday.

Update on the Henry County tag office operation for Coronavirus shutdown

According to Henry County Tax Commissioner Michael Harris although to Tag office is closed to the public for face to face interaction employees are still reporting to process renewals daily from 8am-5pm in McDonough and Stockbridge. You cannot go inside the buildings or speak directly to the staff because the building is closed to the public for the protection of all during the Coronavirus shutdown. He also advised residents that auto tag renewals are available in Ellenwood at the Fairview Road Kroger and at Kroger on Jonesboro Road McDonough.

He directed residents to the Tax Commissioner website at HenryTC.org where additional information is available including his contact phone number if you cannot resolve your issue online.

Henry Aquatic Center consultant search begins.

Henry recently began the search for a consultant to assist with the planning and construction of the Splost V Aquatic Center project. The state of the art aquatic center was approved by voters on the November ballot. Our course says the center will be based on the Cherokee County Aquatic center anchored by Olympic style competition pools inside along a recreational component outisde. Henry County swim teams currently have to travel to Clayton to train and compete.

Our source also confirmed the Henry Aquatic Center facility will be located between the Eagles Landing area of Stockbridge and Jodeco Road providing access to all the residents in Henry County.
