The way home

Heya! Yeah I know crazy stuffs happening, I'm actually posting twice today, the miracle!

So after months of wandering with the group of heroes, they finally land in the timeline of hyrule warrior. He was finally home, what could go wrong after those tiring months traveling and fighting for their lifes? ^^ Easy, a pair of twins.

This scenario take place in my tloz au the "guardian au" so please respect my oc, don't copy or steal the contest I've been working hard on it for years even before getting on tumblr and try developping it. But it's kinda hard with dimentional travels of the heroes and the nicknames since there's already so many amazing Au's like the linked universe, bonus links and so on. Those people do such amazing works TvT and I'm struggling with my drawing competences and writting TvT and my messy lore too so I'm definitly limited with what i can offer you all ^^" (if it even interest anyone ^^")

Warrior - Elyss (and Elyos is there too)

After months of being away from his Hyrule, warrior was glad to finally see some familiar paysages. After a quick detour by the forest to get to castle town faster (for reasons he wouldn’t tell the others) the group finally reach the big walls of the city. But instead of walking on the pont, he turned directly to make his way along the walls to the east side of it to be precise; soon enough reaching a small one floor house, with some fantastic magician vibe.

The group look at their colleague confuse when a big explosion is hear from inside the very house, making all the heroes panic as they take out their sword, with the hero with the scarf just sigh, when the door open and two identical figures fall flat on the floor on top of each others, covered in suit while insulting each others.

Warrior sighs walking forward with Wind and Time close behind him, soon enough followed by the others to stand in front of the twins.

Lifting their head when they hear the footsteps, the two lift their head, most believed they were two girls, and when the one dress in purple push the one dress in blue off her to run toward their group they all look at Warrior with raised eyebrows, before the girl with the braid stop in front of them her entire focus on him.

- Your back!!! You're finally back! She grin happily before frowning when looking at him and start to literally inspect him with no scrupule in front of everyone (no she didn’t undress him don’t worry XD) You’re okay? You’ve been gone for months! You’re not injured are you?

She asks moving behind him to literally palp him to see if he got any broken bones moving so much she got his scarf on top of her head as she continues her meticulous inspection.

The group for their part was…surprised to say the least. Warrior not complaining and just letting this girl do as she pleases with no complaint or even a roll of his eyes. The others twin dress in blue soon join the group to observe the scene

- For anyone wondering, yes she’s always like that, and yes he let her go away with almost everything

The shock on their faces when looking at the second twin right now

- And no, I'm not a girl. I have the same thing you do and please don’t comment on the angel part. I still have identity crises about it. I’m Elyos, and this stress energy ball inspecting him right now is my twin sister Elyss. He explain while pointing at the girl dress in purple.

The group just nod and focus back on the twin sister done with her inspection; now looking at the hero with an angry child face like face with her hands on her hips. Warrior just sigh and open his arms, giving the girl a small motion before she jump in his arms wrapping her arms and legs around him.

The group look at the scene surprise as Warrior walk back toward them while holding the girl in his arms.

- I see you already met Elyos. Don’t get fooled by the mature act, he’s even worse than her sometimes. This is Elyss.

He says while adjusting his hold on the girl in his arms who was clearly enjoying it from the content smile on her face as she rest her head on his shoulder.

The group nods while still being surprised by the girl he holds in his arms like it’s the most normal thing in the world. While they knew their fellow companion was a charmer. THIS was a first for them. Meanwhile her brother snort, noticing the other heroes looks on their faces.

- It’s common stuffs for them. Sometimes when Elyss do something bad he even pick her up under his arm to scold her in private. It’s super funny to watch her wiggle around in his arms and call for help.

He grinned. while watching the girl turn around to grab him but he took a step back before she could.

- Shut up! You're jealous you can’t do the same with either the princess or Linkle!

Her brother shrug

- Touché.

And the group of heroes just look at them like they’re aliens.

- They aren’t from Hyrule in the first place. Explain the blond with the scarf, before getting interrupted by the twins.

- Hey you’re going to explain this at some point?! They ask at the same time while pointing at the group of heroes. Where were you!? and how come you came back with-

An explanation later after putting Elyss down and both twins look at warrior like he just went through hell and back. Then at the group of heroes with more interest than before. Many questions at the tips of their tongues and in their bright curious eyes. But a pull back by their shirt from the scarfed knight and they’re just sulking next to him. The knight him looking tired already but happy to be home. The smile on his face being a big clue despite scolding the youngers twins.

The twins look at each others, then back at the group of tired heroes, before asking after a common agreement from their silent conversation.

- Well, since you’re all here. We presume you’re gonna go make a report to mama Impa and the princess, Link?

Elyss ask looking at the taller man who just nod with a sigh.

- Yes, but-

Wind decide to had his little bit of salt into it and had.

- When we got here, he directly made his way toward here, no hesitation or anything. He didn’t even waited for us on most of the way here. He seemed in a hurry. 

Wind whistle innocently while both twins look at each other shock before Elyos wiggle his eyebrows at Elyss with a smirk, earning a smack on the top of his head from Elyss who’s cheeks were now red as she clear her throat. 

- Well hm….if you all want then, you can come rest at our house. It’s not far from here.

She look at warrior, still embarrass.

- You could stay for a bit at least to take a potion before going see the princess?

Her brother appear behind her looking at link mischievously.

- You could stay forever too~ I’m sure Elyss wouldn’t mind.

She blush furiously, turn around and swat at her brother again…With her fist this time. Warrior just look at the pair clearing his throat. The rest of the boys look at him with knowings looks on their faces. Especially two of them -3- you know the war and all that~ He turn his face toward them his eyes widening at the look he was getting and glare at them.

- No comments!

He turn his face around again and see the twins at each others throats…literally… with another sigh and go to separate them before Elyss decide to actually kill her brother. Before she could jump down on him with her elbow out, Warrior grab her by her waist before she could land that fatal hit on her brother. Elyss pout while warrior just hold her up like she weight nothing.

- We’re gonna go home, and please stop going at each others throats. It goes for you specifically Elyss. And Elyos stop pushing her on purpose. Next time I’m going to let her strangle you.

With all that being said the group with warrior at the front still holding Elyss in his arms was walking along the big walls of the castle until they reach a pretty weird looking house, with many plants, vines, … all over the one floor wooden house, next to it was a little garden with some normal plants and some weirds looking ones…And then.

A very big and massive baba mojo lift from the ground. All the boys took their swords or bows ready to attack the plant, warrior aswell after getting Elyss behind him, but before the first arrow could get shoot, Elyos directly run in front of them with Elyss behind him.

- Wow! wow! wow! Dont shoot her!

Scream Elyos standing way to close to the plant for anyone likings, before getting join by Elyss who explain under the very strict look of warrior.

- It won’t attack…

- Elyss

Warrior look at the twins with an even more strict look on his face as Elyos was literally being a shield to protect the plant. And by shield I mean he was literally half on the head of the plant while Elyss look unsure on how to avoid the scolding from Link at this point.

- First of all, it’s not me! Only Elyos, on this one! I promise!

The man cross his arms raising an eyebrow at her, Elyos still doing a rodeo on the baba mojo head behind her.

- Hm….Did you know that baba mojo saliva is actually present in many potion recipes?

- Really now?

He ask absolutely not convince while glancing at her brother once in a while, now hissing at the heroes that would dare walk closer to him and the plant.

- ….Yes, it’s actually very useful. And uh Elyos raised this baba since she was only a seed, so it doesnt exactly got the instinct to attack? …He kinda tamed, her?

She try to explain while the hero was rubbing the bridge of his nose not even sure how to scold the two reckless twins.

- And since when exactly do you got that…. ”thing” in your garden?

- ….A few months ?

- A FEW- he take a deep breath. So since I was gone? Okay…Can you please tell me, how it got so big in such a time?

Elyss blink, looking back at the plant/her brother still on it, then back at him.

- ….No idea, Elyos been the one feeding it from the start. So i’m not sure what he gave her…

Warrior rub his temple already regretting even asking that, because of course, the twins were weird one at a time, but if one of them do something the other just go with it no questions asked, ever.

- Fine. And did it ever attacked you two?

- ….Hm, well she “bite” my brother once in a while…But it kinda look more like a hug? Somehow her teeth arent solide, they’re soft, sooo....

- I’m gonna grow gray hair someday because of you two. He mumble rubbing his face. But we traveled for a while, so i’m going to drop this for today. I presume Impa don’t know anything about it either?

Elyss go rigid at his question her face making a nervous grimace as her eyes look anywhere but at him.

He sigh and just walk inside the house, everyone else looking at him surprise, but since the plant hadn’t eat the twin brother yet. They walk inside the house reluctantly aswell. It was a weird day to come back home the warrior though. But it was still good to be here even for just a little while.

This is it....

Okay guys, this is it, The Royal Ranger is downloading.... I have reached the last book in the series... From all I hear it’s going to rip my heart to shreds on top of the fact that the series is over. (Maybe John Flanagan wrote the Early Years books as a sort of salve after The Royal Ranger.) Although it would seem many people are refusing to even acknowledge book 12′s existence. Well I’m going to face whatever comes, but now I’m just rambling. Wish me luck fellow rangers!

Nightbane (Part one)

Disclaimer(s):  I do not own the rights to any of these characters, at least in this chapter.  (Elyss is on oc but is based on a skin from Paladins)  This is only part one and I don’t know how many more chapters I’ll write.  Also:  THIS IS COMPLETELY SFW, AND IT’S GOING TO STAY THAT WAY.  

It wasn’t an unusual day.  Cassie and Zigs had just gotten back from a hunting trip with Tyra, albeit with a bit of arguing about the meaning of the word “overkill,” and both had only one thing on their mind: food.  It was Mal’Damba’s turn to cook, and while Cassie was still unsure whether she shared his exotic taste in food, he was the fastest chef among the Paladins, meaning at least it would be here soon.  Dinner was served and Cassie chowed down.  Zigs had flown back to the woods to catch its next meal, and Tyra had gone to sit with Ash, as usual.  

“Cassie.”

It was Seris.  Cassie couldn’t see her eyes, but somehow she looked even more gloomy than usual.  Of course, Cassie didn’t at all mind sitting next to her, it was just a bit unexpected as Seris usually keeps to herself (with the exception of Androxus).   

“You need to prepare yourself.  I am sensing grave danger in your--future?  No.  That’s impossible.  This has already happened.

“I think I speak for both of us when I say: Huh?”

“I am not quite sure.  The Abyss has never been wrong before.  All I know is that you are in danger.  Beware.

Cassie wasn’t sure what to make of it.  Being a Paladin, she could recall countless times when she was in “grave danger.”  Maybe Seris was just getting her tenses confused?  That didn’t seem right.

“So, are you saying that--”

It was too late.  Seris had already vanished to who-knows-where.

Cassie had finished eating and Zigs had returned.  Cassie couldn’t wait around for whatever danger there was in store for her.

“Come on, Zigs.  Let’s go look for trouble.”

And while they didn’t quite find what they were looking for, they did find something a lot stranger.  There seemed to be a giant hole in the wall, except without the wall.  It was a massive rectangle just sitting in the air, almost like a portal.  Cassie was used to portal travel by now, but this seemed a lot more powerful.  What was weirdest of all was that this wasn’t just swirling colors.  On the other side, it was the same woods, but it was night.  

“Maybe we should go get Torvald or Ying.  They might know what’s going on.”

Zigs shook its head.

“Fine.”

Cassie took a step through and prepared for the worst.  It didn’t come.  In fact, it was pretty much the same, except for the obvious time difference.  Although, something didn’t quite feel normal...

“Zigs, I’m getting the feeling that we’re not exactly in Kansas anymore.”

There was no response.

Suddenly, Cassie was thrown on the ground.  A dark figure loomed over her.  This wasn’t like anything Cassie had fought before.  It bared its fangs and lunged.  From out of nowhere, an arrow struck it in the side and the creature disappeared into a cloud of dust.  Cassie looked around, but there was no one to be found.  Whoever shot that--thing--must have had quite the aim.  Swiftly, a leather clad woman about Cassie’s height leaped in front of her.  Her hat obscured most of her face, but her hair was also almost the same as well.  Then she looked up.

“Imposter!  How dare you!”

“Imposter?  No, I don’t think you understand, my name’s Cassie and--”

Her voice trailed off when a crossbow was held to her face.

“You look like me, yet I have never met you before.  I’ll give you credit, your magic is strong, but my weapon is stronger.  You should have known better not to trifle with Elyss, the Nightbane.”

art vs artist 2025! this year was really hard for me; I was a little surprised to find I had done so many (finished) drawings throughout the year. I'm proud of myself for how much art I've managed to do! Also, yes, I could have filled the entire thing with just Felix, but I tried to shake it up a little bit...

What is your character's favorite kind of social event? For anybody you'd like to answer for :)

Elyss loves very intimate gatherings with close friends and family! She wants to be at a birthday party where she knows everybody, or nearly everybody. It's a tricky needle to thread because she does also like dressing up, which is rarely called for in a small private casual occasion; she'd really love being a guest at a small wedding for a beloved friend where she gets to sit at the table with all her other most beloved friends and ignore everybody else 😌

Idri loves a PARTY!! She longs for the afterparties at the circus; she wants lots of people around, current friends and new people she can make friends with, drinking and playing games and getting up to Shenanigans. The kind of social events that may bear legendary stories and epic regrets for those in attendance who can still remember it in the morning

Juniper hasn't had many opportunities for social events, and has most often felt a bit awkward at them. She daydreams about going to a grand ball in a grand gown and dancing, although in practice she'd be really nervous and feel out of place; what she actually needs I think is to be at a pizza party in someone's basement with her half dozen or so closest friends, you know, drinking ciders and laughing on the back porch at someone's housewarming, that sort of thing

Aubree lovesss a family reunion. Halfling family reunions are enormous, with almost festival overtones; there's loads of great food and drink, there's formal and impromptu sports and lawn games, there's your cousins from the Cooper-Oakhearts branch of the family who live way up in Fernrose Glen whom you haven't seen since the last family reunion, there's old folk recounting the family history and drunk uncles recounting embarrassing stories and little kids chasing each other and climbing around under the tables, there's probably a bunch of friends and neighbors who've showed up with a dish to pass because after all they're practically kin. It's always a good time

Melliwyk always really liked going out for drinks in the evening at academic conferences and the like. She loves socializing with like-minded people and getting into heated arguments with nearly like-minded people, and she likes gossip way more than she thinks she does

Felix loves pretty much any kind of social event big enough for him to hang out without feeling like his sustained active participation is load-bearing. He loves being around a lot of people, and he really loves being around people in a lot of different contexts. Weirdly, he has a soft spot for other people's family's weddings, funerals, and family reunions in particular-- he finds highly emotional gatherings of usually intimately connected people like that extremely interesting and very moving, but he doesn't want a bunch of his own distant relatives cornering him to ask him what he's been up to lately. Weddings are by far the nicest, but they're also usually the least common to get invited to, and the riskiest to crash :\a Weddings are nice also because he really likes dancing! He'd make a great plus one

Lightning Round! Benny likes going for drinks with the lads! Casual and homey + nice to feel included. Nyssa likes festivals! Her home culture is enough of a baseline sustained Social Event all the time that she loves when there's something special going on, like a holiday with specific organized events or rituals. Kethri also likes festivals! She loves watching a whole town transform in a unified spirit of celebration, and she loves getting to be part of it!
