I fear my own art will always be something repeated.
Did I restate it or just reiterate?
What conscious constitutes create?
Do you care for my subject matter, bar fame?
Is the mark of an artist truly in the shown?
or rather is it merely who’s known?
Do I prescribe my own fate?
Hate, making me hide my art away.
Could I have turned out any other way?
Uniquely compromising creation for critique.
Is a squeal or remake the only thing you’ll see?
I find myself wishing to be who I once was
Before the disparagers found a home in my mind
Thinking of all that could be redone
Spectators had me thinking I was running a sprint
Not a marathon
I fell before too many finish lines
And I fear it’s too late to get back up
