Everything moved around him, the fabric of reality tearing at the seams, unable to take the force of the madman snapping the strings of the universes very existence, and using nothing but the force of his anguish and being so fed up with all of this shit. Wilford Warfstache has had enough. He didn't even have to take another step, the world itself flowed around him terrified. Everything was a blur of light, but through the light, he felt his physical form break, and for a split second he had a moment of clarity to wonder if this is what Dark feels when his shell breaks. It was pain and power and it mixed to form a concoction that overwhelmed him and left him with one goal, the goal he had been created with. The goal he has and will always have, and no amount of 'family' (Traitors) or 'Love" (Restraints) or even Hatred (Let them see what I am) could ever get in the way again. He'll do more than bringing the world to its knees, He'll bring it to its knees, gag it and shoot it in its forehead. A proper execution , fitting for what they put all of them through. Put him through. His one goal. Cause chaos. Fuck Yes. Who's the better first target than the one who was just like him. Devil may care attitude, no, there was only room for one of them in this world. And once he's killed him. The light went dark The world cowers around him as he touches the matter in front of him only to have it part, making room for the energy coursing out of what was once his physical form. He reached further looking for that one smell. The smell of the clinic, or at least a nightmarish version of it. He found it through the door between realities, the one Dark used to possess. The one that was now left unguarded and broken in the wake of the manipulators fall. The king had fallen and the throne was up for grabs. He reaches forward and grabs his creator. N ow onto Poor, corrupted Green. Green doesn't remember a time where he wanted his brothers more. The calm, teacher-likeness of Blue, the strong, protectiveness of Red, and the bright, idealistic nature of Oliver that almost acted as a sedative for Green. It was beautiful how they worked together. His memory files don't exactly entail what happened that day, all he could process was the feeling of fading. His memories themselves disappearing with every tick of the clock. He remembers his older brothers tear stricken face. The look of realization and horror. He remembers Oliver screaming about the experiments. Ah, yes. The horrible betrayal of every ego they had called their friends. Blue had specifically said to never let the others know, Not Red (Damien) or Oliver ever see what had to be done to save everyone. Never. The Experiments they had called "Project-Rebirth"
Damien was his brother, His closest brother. Oliver was the emotional one, The fandom would have loved him, and Blue was the leader and was always working but Damien always had time for him, now that he thinks about it. He and Damien spent most of their time together. His core aches. God, where were they? The static holding him in chains and keeping him silent glitches again. What was Anti doing?
Green had awoken to the feeling of his system screaming and terrible pain. Before he knew it, He was trapped in chains, and Anti was maneuvering his body like it had been his all along. Green didn't try to look to the outside world. He didn't want to know where he was or what Anti was doing, or killing. He just wanted his brothers. That was until the familiar calm voice of a narrator softly broke through Antis control to Green. Green snapped up and tried to follow the once soft, but growing louder, voice back to reality, but it was as if he hit a wall and wasn't allowed to go further. Sensation in his fingers returned, only to feel they were wet. and Green could only guess what that meant. His audio sensors picked up more noises. but the wall of static prevented him from listening to anything more than his voice. Anti was approaching someone, and Green nearly ran away from the wall back to sweet arrogance in fear he might just be witnessing Anti murder someone in his body, but the narrator's voice reached what Green could only interpret as a yell of anger and crashing sounds were present and Green realized the voice belonged to the one and only Host, and Green is filled with fear, The Host could take him out. Kill him with only a few words. But, that also meant he might kill Anti. Maybe He would see that Green isn't himself and save him. Maybe... Green allowed himself to hope.
Anti is once again faced with the mysterious ego from earlier, except, he is not as rational as before. He's frustrated, angry. And Anti knows why. The bat-wielding ego is furious because Mark managed to get away, Damn Wilford, and he was so close. Anti knows what that's like. To be so close. To taste freedom, To have the reins up in the air and making a grab for them, only for them to fade to dust just when you have them. Anti isn't afraid one bit. He knows exactly how this young ego is feeling. He's been there, and it's a bitter, burning feeling to be so close. Greens tugging on the chains, trying got see more, and it isn't nearly enough to actually do anything, but its all the tired droid can do and it bugs Anti for him to be so uncooperative, So he yanks on the chains keeping Green tied, effectively throwing him to black, allowing not a single thing to slip through that threshold from Antis corruption of his programming and Green consciousness. Now he could turn his full attention to the new ego in town....
....Who was currently lobbing his bat to the surrounding desks and cabinets. Papers and scalpels are forced into the air, where they looked to revolve around the Ego and his growing anger, the overhead bulb caught the sharp edges highlighting them and the fury in the ego missing eyes. Before scattering to the floor with a clatter. Unfortunately for him, Green is not so willing to give in just yet. Green sees Anti hesitation and gives it all he's got, and slams into the threshold. Green, for a second only a second a split blissful millisecond where he was so close. His programming and sensors and everything, functions and accepts him as the rightful owner. The wall bends and he feels relieved, Anti doesn't even notice the whirring of fans and Greens system trying to hurt him before the Unhinged Ego who was moments before lost in rage, stopped cold. He heard. He was a statue. Motionless as if had never moved at all, Bat clutched in both hands level with his hip, backed turned to Anti, before slowly turning his head towards him. Empty eye sockets looking through him. Anti freezes. Green does too.
Anti shoves Greens back hard enough for the droid to pass out as Anti feels his hosts thoughts go silent like a dying light extinguish out of existence, and Anti is not sure he'll come back. That's the least of his worries. Actor is right in front of him, glaring him down bat raised up high ready to swing. Anti knows better. Anti know exactly what to do. Anti does what he's best at. He looks into the eyes of death and smiles. It's a small smile, but it holds a promise. A peace offering Actor freezes. And then Antis speaks, but the words don't sound right. Like Green has been thrown into a sea of people all speaking together, but their voices are hoarse and gravelly. And maybe a little Irish strangely enough. Then it clicks. And Actor realizes he should have known from the moment he sensed him. Anti Actor answers by lowering his bat to the ground and leans on it with both hands. And then answers with a smile of acceptance.
END OF CHAPTER 2
In that parting moment it seemed prophetic enough, though -- the sensation of impending doom reinforced by the noisy reappearance and descent of the scholars.
“Hej, Doc Peck.” They greeted Tobio, who had his own nicknames -- Doc being the way all Medicine students were commonly called around college.
The men glanced towards Alvar, trying to distinguish who he was -- but he had taken to the exact center of the hall, quite out of reach from the light emitted by the wall sconces. Giving his back to the three men, Alvar hoped the jacket actually covered the rip in his trousers, almost sure that Tobio’s fluids slowly running down his thigh and staining the cloth must be indistinguishable from the distance. He politely nodded at the senior students, to just acknowledge their presence, without showing any inclination to make acquaintance.
“Hej, have you finally decided to join us?” the scholar called Kenneth asked Tobio.
Listening in on the conversation that followed, it became clear to Alvar that Tobio had already been in that building before, and must have known exactly what fraternities or student clubs it housed. The scholars must have known him fairly well, too, to so appropriately salute Tobio in Danish.
Why had Tobio alleged ignorance, then? Had Alvar been brought into a trap when, pretending to seek shelter from the shower, Tobio directed their trot across the square to that building’s portal? Shame and sadness intensifying by the second, Alvar did not wait to learn further. Though the rain still drummed outside, he walked to the main door and opened it resolutely.
“Excuse me, gentlemen, I really have to leave.” Alvar announced, and without looking back, his face cheeks wet even before the rain touched them, he sprinted into the thick curtain of cold raindrops.
