A familiar ick. I spent two years hand washing and drying all of my clothes, and learned that hand washing only, no matter how thorough, eventually makes everything really gross. At least in my climate.

I hate that it’s bras of all things that are made so shittily and cost so much that doing this to keep them from falling apart seems to make sense. Yes, the sweat-catcher garment that’s poking into a crevasse in the middle of your chest all day. Let’s decide, as a culture, to manufacture these things in such a fashion that people have to hand-wash them.

Let’s be real, all undergarments should be literally sterilized between wearings, and thus ought to be constructed such that they can be boiled without compromising their structural integrity.
