Chapter 3 of my Ludroth comic is up! Read it here!
Hey everyone! I just released the instructions for Slagtoth HERE, but I have a large selection of other small herbivorous monsters from Monster Hunter as well. Check the catalog for the full list! (A couple of these are in need of a revision, lol.)
epioth no watch out that monster hunter is doing speedrun strats!!
So there's a thing I wanted to do because I've been playing Monster Hunter Stories 3, and thinking about my favourite Monsters from Monster Hunter. Most people know about the reblog games of like pick your favourite of each Pokémon Type, or your favourite starter for each region, etcetera. Why not do that with Monster Hunter Categories?
For the record I'm not going to get into Subspecies for mine, but feel free to be more specific yourself. Let me know if I forgot a Monster Category as well!

Deserted Island area 10 (underwater) or Epioth and female Piscine set I miss underwater areas at Deserted Island a little bit. Flooded Forest? not that much Commissions open!
エピオスはハンターが寄ってきても気にしないから、水中散歩したらこんな場面もあるのでは?と思いました。そして気軽に泳げる装備といえばモガピスカ。モガの海はけっこう好きでした。でも当時の水没林はあんまり…
Day late oop-
Day 3 - Favorite Herbivore - Epioth
Man I just love epioth. MH3U was my first game and I loved these guys right from the start.
Koi Lake
Situated to the far-east of the Kingdom between the Lovebringer River and the Golden Ridge, the Koi Lake was named after its curvy shape of a koi carp, visible from the point of view of a flying Wyvern. About 10km long and 4km wide at its widest, it is one of the most unique sites of the Kingdom since regardless whether you look east or west, it will offer you literally breath-taking views.
The western side of the lake is immersed in a wild shallow space known as the Willow Swamp, where making your way through the tall reeds lets you find plenty of amphibians and bugs to catch. If you look closely, you may discover hidden entrances to underground caves inside the rocky massifs, which contain interesting ore. The swamp is also a favorable area to explore if you’re looking for Gargwa eggs or Slagtoth oil. During summer evenings, you’ll be able to hear the soothing concert of crickets and frogs, while the sun sets behind the Duskfall Forest far west from there.
Beyond a grassy plain on the eastern side of the lake, where Kelbis and Aptonoths like to graze, you will see the steep edges of the Golden Ridge mountains. Their remarkable name comes from the colors they display during sunrise, an exceptional view of which can be found simply by sitting on the grasslands at the opposite side of the lake and admiring both the yellow lining of the ridge and the water reflections (see picture). Besides, the spot is excellent for stargazing or for a picnic, but you must be cautious not to leave your food nor your children unsupervised since Jaggis have often been observed in the area.
The lake itself is moderately deep, and the water cool; it is recommended to be prepared for a chill when going for a swim. Aside from varied vegetation having colonized the photic areas, it is also home for many species of freshwater-dwelling creatures including an abundance of fish. Some of them are endemic to the lake, such as the rare Aurora Carp; some others are way more ordinary and can easily be fished for diverse purposes.
Aquatic Monsters also find their place in the ecosystem: among them, peaceful Epioths that enjoy feeding on algae and sunbathing on the central island. They are occasionally preyed upon by Ludroths and Royal Ludroths, the most common predators of the area, which spots for resting are usually found in the flooded rainforest to the south of the lake. It is not recommended to feed the Ludroths.
The Felyne village of the Koi Lake situated in one of the northern underground caves will happily welcome you if you need anything, be it information or first aid.
What with spending time watching the landscape, petting the Epioths and gathering miscellaneous resources, the Koi Lake is definitely a place worth visiting by everyone, and not just to push Teostras into it.
