For sure it's A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships by The 1975 I spent so much time listening to that album this year it was with me through good and bad

Dimension 20: Fantasy High ep.1 Beginning Begins! I bought a full video service for this show and I have not regretted it once but Dimension 20 Season 1 is all up on youtube, I encourage anyone who's interested in dungeons and dragons to watch

This groundbreaking blogging is what keeps me on tumblr. Mood stabilizing laboratories indeed.

I knew this post would have mainstream appeal! The other reason the laboratory analogy is appropriate is because in both settings, it’s impossible to match real-world conditions, a hard truth which nullifies many exciting results. Being able to stop crying in a bathroom is no guarantee you will scuttle dry-eyed out. A fact some of our “scientists” could stand to learn---

For YEARS I have been haunted by the memory of when I visited Japan in high school, and couldn't figure out how to flush the toilet bc I kept hitting the bidet button instead, and had to go ask my host mother for help. But, I remain 80% positive that I asked for help with the temple instead of the bathroom, hence part of her confusion, but this post caused the epiphany... a bathroom IS a temple.

8: Game of the year?

Answered here. Another game I played this year that had a big impact on me was Dragon Age: Origins. It was phenomenal but I still like Inquisiton better sorry. Leliana is still my favourite and I am very gay for her.

12: Talk about a new friend you made this year.

My current roommate and I are pretty much codependent besties at this point but before we ended up rooming together we actually didn’t even know each other that well? But he stayed up until like 5 am helping me with my Bayesian Stats final project at the end of the semester and that started a good friendship. :)

20: What’s something you learned this year?

How to use a power drill! It goes brrrzzzzt in an intimidating fashion but using it is actually pretty simple and fun!

9. Best month for you this year?

July, because that’s the month that I spent entirely at nerd camp, which is the best place to be

11. Something you want to do again next year?

Not to be repetitive but I want to teach at nerd camp again lol

25. Did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? Describe one

Ok so I had a general story idea come to me in August and I did briefly attempt to start writing it around October/November but I just didn’t have enough of a handle on it to write it at that point (I know the “shitty first draft before you’ve figured everything out” approach works for a lot of people but this is like the third time in as many years that I’ve tried that and I always end up abandoning it pretty quickly) so for the indefinite future this world and its characters are just gonna live in my head.

Anyways the main character is named Ari(el) and they’re... a lot like me but more Gryffindor? I’ve decided to be ok with giving a character a bunch of my own traits because (a) that’s what’s easiest for me at this point and (b) I want to see myself represented!
