This beautiful clump of Erythronium 'Pagoda' (dog's tooth violet) was thriving beneath some deciduous shrubs in a moist, well drained soil. This perennial has mottled, green leaves with stems having up to 10 nodding creamy-yellow flowers with recurved segments.

I found a SHINY!!!
This is a natural mutation, growing in a protected but not landscaped area, among hundreds or thousands of ordinary yellow trout lilies.
