Eurovision 2019- My top 5

This year is so goddamn good and this top was really hard to write. Sigh.

1. Italy- Soldi by Mahmood

Italy Italy Italy.. How do you manage to do it everytime? Perfection. Pure perfection. A song with 100% emotion, 100% good music, 100% unique vocal and one incredible performer. You made me tear up last year with Non Mi Avete Fatto Ninete and I thought well, nothing can top that- but nope, here you are, bringing Mahmood with a touching story and an amazing beat. Love it. Love the way Mahmood’s identity is brought into the song- the Italian langauge and ethnic vibes combined with the small middle eastren parts. It makes the song so special and authentic and I’m in love. Also, the clapping is fun. *claps claps claps*

2. The Netherlands- Arcade by Duncan Laurance

For me, the strongest Ballad this year. Something about this song is so relaxing in a way that makes you stop everything you’re doing and just.. think. The lyrics are powerful and very relatable. Anyone can relate to the message and you can take the song to so many different directions, incredible. His voice is soothing and the chorus gives me chills. Duncan’s live performance is amazing and his voice is on point, he’ll slay.

3. Switzerland- She Got Me by Luca Honey Hanni.

The best song this year, music-wise. What a beat. Luca, you’re out of this world. Listening to the song one time is enough to sing along on the second time. A fun, sexy, danceable tune. Loving it. I hope his live performance will not disappoint.

4. Malta- Chameleon by Dua Lipa Michela

WHAT IS HAPPENING MALTA. WHAT IS HAPPENING. I can’t even explain my love for this entry. This song makes me want to fight all my fears, go back to exercising, start eating healthy and start a new skincare. Does that make sense? Good job, Malta. Good job.

5. Cyprus- Replay by Tamta

You can never go wrong with Cyprus. Whether it’s a rock band with an incredible hit or a goddess with an amazing wardrobe and an almost-winning song. An amazing beat, great voice and such a fun song to listen to. Yeah, it reminds me of Fuego, but hey- Fuego was incredible, so I’m not complaning.
