Now I’m realizing a lot of Far Cry main antagonists have a complicated relationship with their fathers and/or even turned out the way they did because of them.
Hoyt chokes up when he mentions how “wonderful” and hardworking his was, apparently looking up to him, but at the same time, according to what I’m told is an official description, he had a “brutal upbringing by his father” and “swore to outdo him”.
Pagan murdered his dad because he saw him as an obstacle to his ambitions, and it seems the Twins killed theirs, whom Gina says was not as sadistic as his daughters, for similar reasons. Ironically, Vince was the one who turned little Michelle and Louise into the violent “problem solvers” Mickey and Lou. In New Dawn, Ethan also betrays New Eden and ultimately dies because he resents Joseph for being the Father instead of his father, and he feels neglected.
The Seed brothers had a violent, alcoholic, and very religious father who would regularly beat them when they were young, and the abuse they suffered because of him, whether directly while they lived with him, or indirectly when they ended up in foster care after he was arrested, broke them in various ways, but all irreversibly.
Interestingly, it wasn’t because of hate or abuse that Antón’s father, Gabriel Castillo, turned him into a villain. On the contrary, he admired him, but it was mostly the desire to take back what the revolutionaries stole from him and his family that led Antón to become a tyrant. That’s not his dad’s fault, but it’s still partly because of him that his son turned out that way.
In Far Cry 6, what’s interesting is that we also get to meet the child of a main villain. Diego too has a complicated relationship with his father, who can simultaneously tell him he loves him and get him nearly killed, or tells him it’s his fault if innocents get hurt every time he disobeys. The boy wants to leave Yara and disagrees with some of what his father says and does, but he also has undeniable love and compassion for him.
In the game, we see events that are potentially as life-changing as the ones other previous antagonists told us about. Remember that time Antón made him watch as Julio was being beaten, then put a gun in his hands and asked him to shoot, but since the 13-year-old boy couldn’t bring himself to do it, he had to witness even more violence and presumably someone being beaten to death? That’s a story I think he could have recalled, as an adult, the same way John talks about the day his parents tortured him in their kitchen and he had an epiphany.
Killing Julio would have been traumatizing, but so was watching him suffer a longer and even more painful death because Diego didn’t pull the trigger. In both cases, he feels guilty and responsible. Had we met him years later, maybe he would have talked about that day and how it changed him forever. Maybe he would have said his father had taught him a valuable lesson, for example that “cowardice” only makes things worse and that it’s always better to take action, even if it seems bad, or that sometimes, you simply can’t win because the world is evil, or maybe that murder is mercy. Who knows what that trauma could have done to him, in the end?
Diego admitted his father was a monster, saying it was because “he was raised that way”, but as much as part of me believes Antón did love his son, there’s no denying his guilt-inducing and violent parenting methods were disastrous and could have had the same effect on Diego. I want to hope the boy could have broken this cycle of violence and escaped Antón’s toxic influence, but he could also very well have become a tyrant himself.
We will never know what kind of man Diego would have grown up to be, sadly, but what’s certain is that, had he turned into an antagonist, like many others before him, his father would have played a huge role in this transformation.
If they cared about consistency or development at all they could’ve paralleled the Seed mother’s violent neglect of her sons with Joseph’s equally disastrous neglect of his & explored Megan’s initial removal of Ethan as a failed attempt at preventing that, maybe establish how the Twins Mickey & Lou’s mother dealt with having children for a warlord, to pad out the theme but also to make the girls’ assumption of their father’s position mirror Ethan’s more directly: that way it would make more sense that Ethan feels a sense of kinship with them, but it would also stress how being primed for such a violent leadership role so young sets the kids up for failure across the board, so that “his only fault was that he was mine” holds weight to the player now that we’ve seen this same process play out with another characters children. But whatever! The whole game is forever one big what-could’ve-been.

This will likely be updated and refined again in like a couple years time (more or less) but yeah, here's what I got thus far. The WIPs Silva is a apart of (namely Silva's Hope and La Última En Pie) are also still in the process of being written or yet to be written (for Old Dusk's case).
Read all about the information I'm willing to offer about Silva Omar below the cut:
BASICS
Name: Silva Omar (formerly her name was Sylvester, given to her by her Father since he desired a son (and still chose to be an asshole when he found out she wasn't one upon birth), however, after the death of her first daughter, she embraced the stronger "Silva" nickname as her new identity, as it was originally conceived by the Tumultites, her closest family/community, while "Sylvester" was her father's choice, and represented the demure, reclusive and powerless woman she'd once been).
Age: 26-27 (during the events of Silva's Hope), 44 (during the events of Old Dusk)
Gender: Intersex Female.
Sexuality: Demiromantic Lesbian.
Faceclaim: Mina El Hammani (might change this though), have picrews of her here and here.
Personality/Myers–Briggs Type: On the surface, Silva is a stoic, reclusive and distant person, who masks herself with neutrality. She is typically calm and collected. Under the surface though, is a compassionate, sorrowful and fierce woman, alone shouldering the guilt and grief she's accumulated over each loss and failure in her life as a reminder to keep pursuing the life she desires; one full of mundane normality, and one where she hopes she can be content enough or find enough happiness to move on from the painful past. She deeply desires to use her junior deputy life as an opportunity to finally connect with the community of Hope County, to close the distance and escape the loneliness of her solitude and paranoia, as well as use her skills to serve and protect the people, though cannot ascertain herself whether she can do both that and uphold the law, especially when laws are fickle and prone to change depending whose in charge. Silva is a stalwart and stubborn person, resourceful and resilient, a defiant soul at heart who rarely bows to an authority she doesn't or cannot respect. There is a gentle tenderness too, despite how the brutal violence she's grown used to also coincides with the use of her fragile hands. Clever, strategic and perceptive, there is a creative and easy-going part of Silva that's survived, and often tinkers to relax her mind when particularly stressed. Silva is honest to a degree, even while holding her secrets close to her chest, Silva cannot lie to save her life, so she deflects and evades the truth, touching upon only grains of it. She has managed to grow past many preconceived and ill notions of herself, but she has not escaped all of it, especially when it comes to her own value in comparison to everyone else. There are scars that prevail within her, enough to remind her of past failings, and enough to provoke memories entrenched in wrath and a deep sadness. She is deeply caring and loyal to those she values, and wields a ferocious and almost vengeful grudge towards an opponent she particularly dislikes. When it comes to loving a partner, she lets most of her actions do the talking, though is aware sometimes a verbal reaffirmation of her love and devotion is required too, but is easily flustered herself when on the receiving end, and absolutely melts into the touches of her beloved. When intimate with her partner, she is reserved and yet passionate, and entirely focused on her partner's comfort and pleasure rather than her own. Silva likes to feel in control, to better protect those she has not yet lost, often preparing for the worst to not be caught off guard again, and will resort to what she knows should control be ripped from her. While normally able to discern through lies fairly easily, Silva can be blindsided by half-truths or even the genuine belief a person has, whether it be in their words or something more. Silva's relationship with God and religion is directly tied to the predatory nature of her father and his congregation using such comforts to inflict shame and harm on her. If Silva were to try to regain a sense of faith again, it could not be in a higher power, but directed to a person, or community. Silva is someone who tries to do what she believes is right, above all else. She is a person of many layers, but she knows who she is underneath it all. According to the test, her personality type is the "Protagonist" (ENFJ-T).
Hometown: Silva was born on the Archipiélagos, off-shoot islands of two mountains with a wide river separating them. These islands were colonized by an unorthodox Spanish colony once part of a Catholic Monarchy led away by a "prophet" who lived under more puritan beliefs, and the descendants of both the original inhabitants and the colonial forces continue to exist there, divided by segregation and hierarchy. After escaping with both her younger sister and infant daughter, Silva and her small family would make a new home in Hope County of Montana, America. Silva would have a residence in the Whitetails, closest to the road to the eastern region, the Henbane, while Elsa set up a lodge deeper and further up north, closer to the actual mountains.
Family:
- Silva's adoptive padre was a man named Paul Yellowjack, a leader amongst the Tumultite Community, who had saved a young Silva's life and raised her throughout her adolescence, teaching her everything a parent should with their child, treating her as his own, and with a deep love that a father should have for his daughter. The wheels of time would change them though, upon their reunion five years after the Tumultite Massacre, and the closeness they once held for one another would erode into a vicious violence.
- Silva adores her younger half-sister Elsa Omar, even if she worries excessively for her hermana's physical health and reckless thrill-seeking tendencies. Silva's rose-tinted glasses of her little sister often ignore the most glaring flaws Elsa had, and did not help her see exactly what Elsa was doing at Horned Serpent Cave before she broke her neck down there.
- Persephone Omar was Silva's first daughter, of whom she had with Irene Neon. A joy in her life, Persephone was the sun that brightened Silva's days working alone in Elsa's Floristry (years after Elsa's cave exploration that cost her life). Silva didn't understand her hija's obsession with planes, but she was always sure to learn all she could from her little girl. Then the day came when Paul took her away...
- Silva's first love was her childhood best friend in the Tumultite Community, Irene Neon, the dreaded daughter of Kamski and Zari Neon. Her loathsome reputation would not reach Silva's ears, as Irene ensured, and Silva would be one of two people whom Irene would soften around, the other being their daughter, Persephone. Irene would be amongst the victims lost to the Tumultite Massacre, murdered by the Captain of the Enforcers: Oscar Lapis. History would threaten to repeat for Silva once Oscar has Faith and Azriel hostage at her residence near the end of Silva's Hope.
- One of the few people from Silva's past whom remains with her and still lives is Kamski Neon, the father of her first love Irene, and grandfather of Persephone. Both share the burden of being survivors, and cling to one another as the only two who understand their painful history. Kamski holds no love for the residents of Hope County, and loathes their customs even more, and though he does not agree with her choice, he sincerely hopes Silva can find a peaceful life amongst them. However, when morality and principles conflict with what is necessary, Kamski is the person who will act on it, even if it goes behind Silva's back.
- Silva knows not who her mother was (just as Elsa doesn't know her own), and often cannot fathom her own biological father tolerating another person in such an intimate engagement. Silva's mother is a ghost in her life, and yet she is a ghost who, unbeknownst to Silva, is aware of her kin's presence, but holds no interest in entering her life.
- Father Adam Omar, the sole biological parent Silva knows, was a self-proclaimed prophet who was the chosen leader of the Congregation of Adam's Guard, the authority of the Archipiélagos. As a child, Silva sought to prove that she was more than what she'd been told was her inherently sinful nature, that she was as virtuous and obedient as her younger sister. For all the love Silva held for her father, Adam truly had none for his daughter, nor for anyone but himself and his Lord. As an adult, Silva fully understands that her Father, for all his preaching, was not a man, but a monster who preyed on her, projecting his own loathing and bigotry onto her, with her only value being a lamb to be groomed for a slaughter, just as the siblings before her and Elsa. There may be an ocean separating the two, but in the cruelest of nights, when it's not the pain of losing her child that haunts her sleep, it's the terrifying helplessness of a child unable to escape from her abusive father.
- During the Reaping, Silva would come across a girl named Aria running from her parents, who planned to prove their devotion to the Father of Eden's Gate in the only way that mattered; through sacrifice. Silva would take Aria in, both stuck to the hip of one another, both finding solace and understanding with each other, and bonding over their creative and inventive hobbies. Later, Silva would adopt Aria as her second daughter, to which Aria would rename herself Azriel Omar.
- Mercy Omar-Seed would become Silva's third and final daughter, of whom she'd have with Faith Seed. Mercy would grow up seeing the pain and shame that her madre carried, but would never question the undeniable love Silva gave her.
- Ryan Bouthillier, the orphaned son of Rae-Rae (who was Silva's closest friend in Hope County) and her ex-husband Russel, was Persephone's play mate during Silva's earlier days in Hope County, and Silva herself was considered Ryan's aunt, and he her nephew, as insisted upon by Rae-Rae. After defeating John (and keeping him captive in her bunker), she uses his "key to Paradise" to enter the deeper chambers of his bunker to free the prisoners and get Ryan out with Hudson's help, while also stopping Kamski from filling the bunker with chemical agents meant to suffocate and prolong the suffering of its inhabitants before death. She'd leave Ryan with the good folks of Fall's End (and Boomer too), with the Rye family mostly monitoring him. He'd eventually become one of Azriel's best friends. After the events of Silva's Hope and post-Collapse into Old Dusk, Ryan is an active member in Prosperity and fighter against the Highwaymen, and apparently the third wheel to both Carmina & Mercy and Azriel & Schrödinger's secret dating life. At least he finds common ground with Ethan when they eventually meet. Despite John and Nadi's help in Prosperity, Ryan still hasn't forgiven them for the complicity in his parents deaths. He's not alone; while not enemies, Hudson certainly keeps her distance from the youngest Seed brother.
Did anyone in their family survive into New Dawn (if applicable)?: Silva's daughters, Azriel and Mercy, would survive into the events that would be New Dawn, and so would her wife, Faith Seed. However, Kamski did not make it, having died during Silva's Hope.
Relationship status: She'd eventually be in a committed relationship with Faith Seed during Silva's Hope. By the time of Old Dusk, they're married.
Did their partner survive into New Dawn (if applicable)?: Yes, Faith does survive to Old Dusk.
Reason for joining law enforcement in Hope County: Silva wished to connect with the community of Hope County, and use the skills she had to serve and protect them.
RELATIONSHIPS, FAR CRY 5
Relationship with Adelaide: Silva is friendly with Adelaide, even if she doesn't agree with her on certain points. Silva isn't too fussed by Adelaide's speech being full of sexual lingo, having lived with Elsa, although is a little shocked by some of the things she openly says aloud, but is rarely flustered by her words (unless its something that she's never heard of and tries to imagine how that would work). There are times Silva does want Adelaide to dial it back a bit, but she's not uncomfortable, unless it comes to assumptions about Silva's love life (especially if said comments involve making insinuations between her and the Seed Brothers, like John). She's very evasive if Adelaide catches on and mentions Faith instead. Silva's not the most comfortable in a chopper, considering her first helicopter ride ended in a crash (during Joseph's Arrest), but trusts Adelaide to be her eyes in the air while she's on the ground and become a swift escape option should trouble be overwhelming. Since Adelaide often spoke with and did business with Elsa when she was alive, Silva does ask questions about her younger sister, leading her to learn that Adelaide and Elsa were playful "rivals" in the dating pool, and we're very competitive too, but she was never really jealous of Elsa (like she is with Faith attracting men to her) since it was all good fun between them, and were quite friendly to each other, often "bitching" about something or another, or exchanging gossip and info about which "lay" to try out and whom to avoid sleeping with. Something Silva also learns is that Elsa would speak about her with admiration and Persephone with adoration. If Silva ever has to ask questions about sexual kinks in particular (Silva's an experienced woman when it comes to sex, but she's only really known the vanilla side of things), she knows to go to Adelaide about it.
Relationship with Burke: Silva doesn't like Burke for many reasons, but knows that leaving him with Faith isn't the right decision at all, and would rather retrieve him from the herald so he can be free of her influence. She's still quite unhappy about being left behind to die twice, but she knows her personal dislike for him isn't that important in the current situation of the Reaping.
Relationship with Eli: Silva respects Eli, and feels indebted to him for getting her out of the Grand View Hotel. She knows he risked a lot to take her back to the Wolf's Den, and does what she can to help him and the Whitetails combat against Jacob and his army of Chosen, aiding in strategies and supply runs while reviewing the blueprints of Jacob's Armory to come up with a plan to destroy it. Eli is one of few people to recognize that Silva is far more experienced in the kind of conflict the Reaping is than a junior deputy who has no record of military background should be. Once Silva catches on to Jacob's plans, mostly thanks to Pratt and her own deduction, and Wheaty's deprogramming doesn't seem to prove effective enough to combat Jacob's conditioning, she decides to stay out of the Whitetails indefinitely, informing Eli of the plot before making her way to another region. However, falling for a trap concocted by Jacob and Alexander using Pratt as bait, she's sent off to enact her sacrifice towards Wolf's Den to assassinate Eli. She doesn't get far, as the conditioning collapses. Silva is worse off for it.
Relationship with Faith: Silva and Faith began as enemies on opposing sides; while the deputy aided the Resistance in all regions, the herald aided the Project at Eden's Gate from her domain in the Henbane. Usually Faith could spin a tale of woes and wonders about herself, the Father and Project. Usually she could discern someone for who they were and how to best approach them, while keeping herself in mystery. But from the get-go, Silva has enough tolerance in the Bliss to let Faith know she is not swayed by her bullshit and is determined to put a stop to both her and her brother's reprehensible acts. Faith finds her usual role reversed; she's the one whose entire being has been figured out by another, and she's the one who's both denied the insight (and privilege) of Silva's true self and can't see past the mask the deputy wears around her, even while in the Bliss, something that should make her job easier. Such an encounter both intrigues, alarms and angers/frustrates Faith, especially since, for once, someone was immediately able to see past the performances and tap at the very core of her, rejecting the "facelessness" and ambiguity that comes with her role as the embodiment of Joseph's faith, while being completely in the dark of who Silva herself is; having no indication of her past, no context of her presence beyond being a junior deputy that doesn't seem to like the Project all that much and what little John and Nadi could find out about her (which wasn't much), and all forms of attempted deception and manipulation are met with vitriol rebuff. Silva would remain a body locked with mysteries and secrets she refuses to share with Faith and her family, and the herald would loathe her for it. For once she is dealing with someone who doesn't underestimate her, refuses to fall for the traps Faith lays out to have her be seen as anything but who she really is, and Silva acknowledges her as a threat that can't be given the opportunity to walk through her. The two would remain hostile with one another for a time, until the moment came where Faith changed up her tactic, tried to be more... genuine, in her approach. And for one moment of vulnerability, Silva would, in spite of her better judgement, uncoil herself, just a bit, to allow Faith to see a glimpse of her core self; to lightly touch her vulnerable humanity, a stark contrast from the vehemently ruthless violence Silva acted as. It would be for a small moment, then they'd go back to playing opposition, but something would change between them. Inevitably, it leads to them seeking each other out, time and time again, even if it goes against all that they abide by. Even getting stuck in Elsa's Lodge during a snowstorm for a month or so. They'd begin to understand each other, and there would be things that both can't help but like about the other. Silva would internally berate herself over it throughout the Reaping, but she doesn't hate the familiar and new yearning Faith Seed evokes. Decades later, Silva would admit to her wife that, if she had a second chance, she doesn't think she could change her future, since it's the closest she's gotten to happiness in a long time.
Relationship with Grace: Silva and Grace are people who have an understanding of one another and yet couldn't be so similar and different at the same time. Silva certainly respects Grace, and finds her to be a stalwart ally to cover her when in scuffles, but she can't understand how Grace could prefer the violence of war over the comfort of normalcy. Grace believes the fighting to be apart of her purpose, while Silva abhors her own violence but only commits to it out of the necessity of protecting her newfound community. Silva desperately hopes both herself and Grace can find peace after the fight is over, even if Grace becomes upset at her during her Rogue Arc.
Relationship with Deputy Hudson: Before the Reaping, out of the Sheriff's Department, I think Hudson has gotten the closest to Silva, but not by the same peak of friendship Silva has with Rae-Rae. Her and Hudson are like in the beginning stages of forming a friendship, with Silva slowly lowering her walls down for Hudson, while also being weary of appearing like she's "replacing" Hudson's former patrol partner, Danny. During the Reaping, Silva feels immense survivor's guilt (that doesn't help her pre-existing guilt) for being forced to leave her co-workers behind, and does everything in her power to rescue them. After a few run ins with John and his Peggies, Silva manages to get Hudson out of his grasp, returning her to Fall's End. From here, Silva and Hudson's bond grows stronger, and while often a tad protective of each other, Silva develops a lot of trust in her deputy partner, enough so she can trust Hudson to assist Mary May and Jerome with their resistance in Holland Valley while Silva begins work in both the Whitetail Mountains and the Henbane River (where the worst of the trauma begins). Hudson is probably the first person to notice the shift in Silva's attitude upon her return to Holland Valley; the little tics and tells of PTSD she herself had been having since escaping John's Bunker, but now seeing it clearly on Silva and how worse it seems, especially with how her friend seems determined to push herself further to end the Reaping before she's forced out of the fight.
Relationship with Hurk Jr: Much like Sharky, Hurk reminds Silva of some friends she had back in the Tumultite Community during her adolescence, and sometimes humors their antics (while being the person to step on the breaks when she requires missions to be less wild). While she is closer to Sharky, she does hold Hurk to a close regard, and is treated like an honorary cousin.
Relationship with Jacob: If Silva didn't have a personal vendetta full of past biases against John, the Jacob would have been Silva's most hated Seed (second to Joseph, of course). Unlike John and Faith, whom Silva can evade and resist to certain extents, Jacob is the herald that Silva cannot easily defy and is a true prisoner of. Although she remains defiant, she cannot stop him from conditioning her mind for his use. Even when she figures out the plot, and subsequently avoids the Whitetails, she is inevitably brought back to it when they bait her into a trap in an attempt to rescue Pratt. Ironically, Jacob's conditioning is why Silva fails to kill Eli; he was so focused on manipulating her mind to control her body and utilize her violence to his advantage, that he neglected to take into consideration how her body would react to her pre-existing psychological scars reopening due to her weakened mental fortitude. Instead of unshackling his strongest soldier yet, all he achieved in was weakening Silva's defenses against her inner demons, and leave her to be more of a danger to herself rather than his intended target/s.
Relationship with Jerome: Silva likes Jerome, and considers him the only true "man of God" she's had the luck to meet in her life (which is a huge compliment considering her own personal feelings towards God and religion). Silva finds his advice and quotes to be comforting, even if she can't get behind having faith in a higher power due to the experiences she's had and the pain Adam and his Congregation inflicted on her with the use of God. But she grows to have faith in people, which is more than enough for her.
Relationship with Jess: Jess is who inspires Silva to start using a bow instead of guns more, due to their stealth and recoverable ammo (and later Silva modifies her compound bow by installing serrated blades on the curves for close combat). Silva is impressed by Jess' skill and reputation, but is worried about her taste for violence and blood, not that she doesn't think the Peggies aren't undeserving of Jess' want for retribution. She was initially hesitant to join Jess on her revenge mission against the Cook, but ultimately decided to tag along, out of debt to Dutch and out of the necessity to take down one of Jacob's men. After the Cook is dead, and Jess doesn't feel all that better, Silva lets her know that she knows that feeling, but they also ensured the Cook couldn't hurt anyone else anymore. She does as Dutch asks and looks out for the archer, and hopes that, much like Grace, Jess can find some semblance of peace after the fighting is done.
Relationship with John: Oh boy. If Joseph wasn't already so deplorable as a prophet to Silva, then John would be taking the number #1 spot for "Seed's Silva Hates"... though a lot of her personal grudge against John stems from the fact he harassed her over buying out her dead sister's floristry business in the past, and (unbeknownst to John) the day she learned he had stolen her younger sister's legacy while she was out of Hope County for 6 months was the day she had just buried her 5-year-old daughter, Persephone, indirectly leaving Silva with nothing after the loss of her child. To kick the dog even further, the floristry had been burned down during the beginning of the Reaping. What really solidifies Silva's vendetta against John was his murder of Rae-Rae, orphaning Ryan (& Boomer) and taking away the closest friend Silva had in Hope County, and baiting her with Hudson. To say Silva gives John hell is an understatement; she continues to hold on to that wrath towards him, trying her earnest best to dehumanize John in her mind so she doesn't lose that passion to kill him, especially when he shares the memory of the "lesson" the Duncans taught him and what she learns of his life through Joseph's Word and the Book of Joseph. Luckily for John, she burns through her rage, enough for her to make an impulsive decision while he's at her mercy.
Relationship with Joseph: Out of all the Seeds, Silva absolutely despises Joseph, for the terror he's wrought on the country with his cult and for enabling his siblings into monsters. At first, Silva believes him to be a fraudulent prophet, and despite how uncannily similar the prophecy he speaks of is to the one her Father spoke of, she's convinced the Collapse is not coming and that Joseph is lying. It isn't until after Joseph tells her the story of his daughter (which Silva had a very valid crashout over) that Silva realizes that he genuinely believes himself to be a prophet to God, and that he must prepare for the Collapse before it arrives. Out of his siblings, Silva is neither close nor relates/believes herself to be similar to the prophet in any degree. She knows through first-hand experience that what Joseph says and promises cannot and should not be trusted as, just as she learnt from her father, his love and loyalty to God comes first and above everything else. She does not believe peace can be achieved, as while Joseph may possibly agree to it, the same cannot be said about what his God would say, if he even is even speaking to God. Silva finds he holds so much similarities to her father (e.g. the expendable nature of the role of Faith) and yet is so different, but not in a way that is any better (e.g. his violent and torturous methods being paved with good intentions). In Old Dusk, Silva is deeply uncomfortable with Joseph's new fixation on Azriel, and still hasn't forgiven him for his part (even if inadvertent) in the Congregation of Adam's Guard' invasion.
Relationship with Kim Rye: Silva develops a deep bond with the Rye family, just as close as she got with Rae-Rae's. While initially skeptical of Kim remaining in Hope County while the Reaping was happening, is ultimately convinced that it's probably for the best she didn't fly out of the county while heavily pregnant. She respects Kim and assures her that, regardless of what the state of the world will be when Baby Rye enters it, Silva has full confidence that Kim's child will grow up safe, happy and loved thanks to the parents she has. Silva is deeply honored to be Carmina's godparent. Unlike most of the other Resistance members, whom she evades & deflects questions regarding John's fate & allows the general consensus that she killed him to spread (which she feels guilty for doing), as soon as she's faced with the prospect of deceiving Kim when approached by her, Silva immediately folds and Kim is the first person she confesses to about how she didn't kill John Seed, has him captive in her bunker and she doesn't know how to proceed from there.
Relationship with Mary May: Silva has a friendly relationship with Mary May, even though Mary May was one of the people who didn't necessarily like Silva's younger sister Elsa (having been an unfortunate ex-girlfriend of hers), but does offer her condolences to Silva as she knows what it's like to lose a younger sibling. Mary May knows Silva had a daughter once, but she doesn't know what happened to her, and doesn't believe it's her place to ask Silva considering all that happened during and after 2015 (a six-month absence, Elsa's Floristry being bought out/stolen by John Seed during said absence, Silva returning to recluse herself for a couple more years before re-entering Fall's End as a junior deputy). There aren't things Silva and Mary May personally agree on, but both trust and consider the other good people.
Relationship with Nick Rye: Silva develops a deep bond with the Rye Family, just as close as she did with Rae-Rae's family. While initially onboard with Nick's plan to help him get Kim out of the county, she eventually talks him out of it upon seeing where Kim was in her pregnancy, but promised him she'd help protect her. She was a little bemused about his goofiness, considering the situation, but it grew on her, and she trusts him to be her eyes from above, especially if there's an outpost they're liberating or on the road being chased by Peggies. Silva and Nick talk about a lot of things together; whether it be about Nick's approaching parenthood, Boomer (and by extension Rae-Rae & her family), or shit-talking John Seed for the shit he did to them (both before and during the Reaping). She is deeply honored to be Carmina's godparent, even if it makes her feel unworthy and guilty, since by that point she has John secretly captive in her bunker. She almost caves into confessing to Nick about it, but manages to stop herself... only to immediately fold to Kim later.
Relationship with Deputy Pratt: Unlike Hudson and Whitehorse, Silva was the least closest with Pratt in the Sheriff's Department, though wasn't unfriendly towards him. While under Jacob's captivity, Silva can see the damage Jacob has left and desires to get Pratt as far away from Jacob as she can. She appreciates all he does to help her and for helping her piece together the assassination plot on Eli before aiding in her escape (something that leaves him at the diminished mercy of Jacob once more). Despite knowing that Pratt is being used as bait to lure in a trap to be back under Jacob's thumbs in the Whitetail, she goes to rescue him anyway. After her fight with Jacob, a heavily exhausted and wounded (and enlightened) Silva fights her way through Jacob's Armory to Pratt, and helps her co-worker destroy it.
Relationship with Sharky: Much like Hurk Jr, Sharky reminds Silva of some old friends she had in the Tumultite Community during her adolescence. She humors his antics, and is happy to have him tag along. His style of humor manages to crack her up, and she considers him one of her best friends and trusted allies, especially during her Rogue Arc. Silva briefly got to know a cousin of Sharky's who "worked" at Lorna's Truck Stop, but she's quick to change the subject when pressed about what kind of "service" his cousin offered exactly entailed. Silva doesn't believe she'll continue being a deputy once the fight is over, and still hopes to continue being friends with Sharky afterwards, something that kind of relieves Sharky since he didn't want them to go back to opposite sides of the law. Sharky and Hurk Jr treat her as an honorary cousin.
Relationship with Tracey: Things start off as tense, especially when her introduction to Silva is when she's recovering from the Bliss in her system (Silva had been forced into a conversation with Faith before she set out to help the Hope County Jailhouse), something Tracey is extremely weary about, and the fact Gavin of all people considers Silva a "friend" doesn't make Tracey ease around her (Tracey finds Gavin to be "off"). Silva doesn't blame Tracey for her paranoia since she's seen first hand and had deduced what Faith's game was all about, especially with the Bliss. They do grow friendlier over time, and Silva learns more about Faith (and her former identity as Rachel), and finds her initial instincts and deductions about Faith not without merit. As she grows fonder of Faith, though, she hopes the day Tracey either figure it out or finds out doesn't pass too soon. Silva absolutely agree with Tracey that freedom is an ideal worth fighting and dying for, even if she desires to avoid the latter part so soon.
Relationship with Wheaty: She thinks he's a good kid, and appreciates him taking the time to attempt at deprogramming the Jacobian Conditioning that Jacob's put her through, even if it doesn't seem to be all that successful.
Relationship with Whitehorse: In the Sheriff's Department, Whitehorse is the second person she's gotten "close" to, in a way. He's an authority figure whom she respects, certainly, and does wish to do a good job by. During the Reaping, he grows to be an important figure in their fight against Eden's Gate, however, Silva doesn't believe she can view him in a paternal role (given her previous fathers, Adam and Paul, had hurt her, the former since her birth and the latter when they reunited with her as an adult), since she doesn't believe she really needs another parent in her life, however she does trust Whitehorse as a source of wisdom and guidance due to his experiences.
RELATIONSHIPS, FAR CRY NEW DAWN
Relationship with Carmina: When Silva meets Carmina again, she's... quite emotional, since the last time she saw Baby Rye she was barely a year old, and now here she is, almost an official adult, which stirs both a kind of pride in who Carmina has grown into and a guilt/sadness that she hadn't been physically there to watch her goddaughter grow up or help the Ryes in their time of need. She's also not fooled about Mercy and Carmina's relationship; she knows they've been dating.
Relationship with Gina: Silva doesn't know Gina all that well. However, she is alarmed when Gina describes Mickey and Lou's father; not Vince, their birth father, but their new father figure.
Relationship with Grace: Silva is glad to see Grace alive, though feels sympathy for her eye sight since she knows Grace considered her eye sight and sniping skills a gift from God. She knows Grace is both upset towards Silva's absence for the past 17-18 years and still hasn't forgiven her for consorting with an enemy (specifically, Faith Seed), but door isn't completely closed off to Silva, and they're both managed to find peace and happiness they both deserved.
Relationship with Ethan: Silva pities the boy, and sympathizes with him too. In a way, they're one in the same; Silva is a daughter of a father who desired a son, and Ethan is a son of a father who wished for a daughter. She genuinely can't tell if Ethan is Joseph's biological son (which confuses her since Joseph piously followed his own rules, which is what differentiated him from her own father, and didn't seem to be over his own wife), or if he's adopted (which confuses her more since Ethan does have similar looks to Joseph, and Ethan himself states that he is Joseph's biological son, which his mother apparently told him, and her letters certainly don't dissuade his words). She is also offended on his behalf when Joseph starts trying to convert her adopted daughter Azriel into becoming New Eden's leader, essentially becoming his spiritual daughter, fueling Ethan's jealousy towards who's essentially his cousin. Silva only hopes that Jacob and Mercy's influence on Ethan's life is enough to deter him from lashing out at the wrong people.
Relationship with Hurk Jr: Silva is happy to see Hurk alive and well again, and is surprised to know he is a father now. She also feels how much both him and Sharky have missed their honorary family member. She also ends up as Blade's second godparent. She won't tell Hurk, but she's glad his father is no longer in his life. She is sad to not have an opportunity to say goodbye to Adelaide though.
Relationship with Jerome: Although much time has passed and things had changed, Silva is again glad to see Jerome alive too, and is surprised that he welcomes her fully in spite of her self-imposed exile and presumed death for the past 17-18 years. He even seems happy that she found peace and a family, even with Faith Seed.
Relationship with Joseph: Silva... hasn't at all forgiven Joseph for his (albeit, inadvertent) complicity in the Congregation of Adam's Guard' invasion of Hope County decades prior. She still doesn't like nor trust him, even though he's long since stopped hearing the Voice (which Silva may know the reason behind but would never tell him it). He seems in joy to see that Faith is alive and that both her and Silva have had their own family together, even offering a place in New Eden, which Silva declines. She's further discomforted and almost furious when Joseph starts focusing on her eldest daughter Azriel, apparently convinced that she's the heir to lead New Eden, in spite of Ethan's efforts to lead New Eden in his father's absence and Azriel's complete disinterest with anything to do with Eden's Gate.
Relationship with Kim Rye: This reunion is a big one, since Silva was an important honorary member of the Rye Family and trusted enough to be Carmina's godmother. Although decades had gone past, and Silva (along with Faith and Azriel) had been presumed dead, Silva did defend the Ryes from the Highwaymen, even if she wasn't seen by them. Kim is relieved to see Silva alive, even if she is a little upset that Silva thought it was better to keep her distance. Both mothers have a lot to catch up on about each other and their own children. She's glad to know that she's been looking out for Ryan too.
Relationship with Nick Rye: Much like with Kim and Carmina, this reunion would be just as important and impactful for both Silva and Nick. I think out of the three, Nick would be the most expressively shocked, overjoyed and yet upset about Silva's return from her self-imposed exile/presumed-to-be-dead absence for the past 17-18 years. But it would smooth over, since Nick is really just happy to know one of the "coolest people he knew" was alive and well. She's glad to know that he'd been looking out for Ryan too.
Relationship with Nana: Silva doesn't know Nana that well, but is amused and impressed in her presence. Nana also helps humble her out of her shame and guilt she still harbors.
Relationship with Sharky: Sharky always knew. He knew she was alive somewhere, and shunned the nonbelievers. He had a board ranged from "most plausible" to "conspiracy" on what could have happened to her, and death was never one of them. When they reunite, it is one of the happiest moments he has with the reveal that his bestest friend was alive. The feeling is mutual on Silva's side. He is a bit upset about the fact she thought she wouldn't be worthy enough to see him and the others again due to her own shame/guilt for the Collapse, but overall I think they're both just glad that other is alright.
Relationship with Security Captain: When Silva and Ezekiel meet again, both are overjoyed that the other is alive. For over two decades, Silva thought Ezekiel to have been a casualty of the Tumultite Massacre when he lured the Enforcers chasing after them away from her, Elsa and an infant Persephone. And for over two decades, Ezekiel had been search for the sisters and Silva's daughter. He is saddened to hear the fates of Elsa and Persephone, especially since he and Elsa had some romantic tension going on between them, but Silva lets him know that despite having had engaged with many partners in Hope County, none had Elsa's heart like Ezekiel did. They both catch the other up on what happened while they had been separated, from Silva confirming Adam and his top Enforcer officers were killed off for good and that she had a family now, and Ezekiel revealing the existence of a Tumultite safe haven called the "Underworld" and that the remainder of the Congregation on the Archipiélagos had fallen. Silva and Ezekiel also work together once more to wreck havoc on another group of pricks trying to steal what's not theirs, though discover the Highwaymen are potentially being used as a front by someone else from Silva and Ezekiel's past.
FAR CRY 5 INFO
Feelings on the Project at Eden's Gate in general: Silva, when she first arrived to Hope County with her sister Elsa and daughter Persephone, didn't really care about the Project at Eden's Gate, nor realize that they were less a official church and more of a cult. She was far more focused on helping Elsa run her floristry and raising her daughter, though did hear about Eden's Gate attempting to buy out Elsa's business before she scared them off, as well as Rae-Rae's Pumpkin Farm. After Elsa's death, Silva would have more interactions with Eden's Gate while she worked Elsa's Floristry, even getting a personal visit from John Seed himself, though she refuted him and his attempts to buy out Elsa's Floristry, not backing down despite the money offered and intimidation displayed. Upon her return from her forced six-month chase around the globe to save her daughter from Paul and the Apostles of Zachariah, the day she buried Persephone was the day Rae-Rae informed her that John had claimed her sister's floristry during Silva's six months of absence. Forged documents from what Merle Briggs described, the same trick they used to steal his property. To say her opinion on Eden's Gate fell from there would be an understatement. It worsens as she becomes a deputy; she's much more aware of the signs Eden's Gate is displaying, from the random aggression of butting heads with the locals to accumulating a number of properties to even the proliferation of the Bliss in the Henbane. Silva recognizes the signs of a movement preparing for something specifically not good, and repeatedly disappointed when her words fall on deaf ears, and worse yet when Marshal Burke comes with a warrant to arrest Joseph, but with a bravado confidence that completely disregards the numbers needed for an arrest like this. During the Reaping, Silva's initial thoughts is that the Project and their heralds are despicable people being fooled by a fraud. For a time, she enacts brutal violence on the Peggies, especially after Rae-Rae is killed and Ryan is taken. However, she mellows out a bit, minimizing her extreme violence to something more necessary and reasonable. She can't find it in her to dehumanize them anymore, even if she knows a lot of her kills were self-defense, she still pities and regrets a lot of her killed, having experience of being raised/taught in an environment that rationalizes and justifies deplorable acts as services for a greater good. Her dislike for the heralds somewhat shifts too, to varying degrees, even with Joseph, but he is still someone she doesn't trust nor like, even while forcing him into a peace. One thing is certain; Silva can never join Eden's Gate. It is not possible nor even plausible, not without some major alterations to her mind and restriction of her free will.
How did they feel about being seen as a savior to Hope County?: It was both a new experience for Silva and something she's quite bashful about; in her eyes, what she does isn't any more noteworthy than what the Resistance leaders and members do themselves. She's just someone trying to do the right thing (and stop history from repeating again in her life). It also pushes her to continue fighting for her new community; she has people relying on her, and she doesn't want to let them down. Her survivor's guilt may have created a martyr-complex, but she's unaware of this, consciously at least, and would deny such a thing at first since "she wants to live" and therefore doesn't count.
Peggie radio station, normal radio station, or no music?: Normal radio doesn't really have much to offer her (with exception to "Raise Hell" by Dorothy), and much to her own confusion, she can't help but admit she likes the Peggies' music. It's also definitely for tactical reasons in order to understand her opponents better and not at all because the songs are catchy and pretty good. However, after Jacob manages to hijack the radio stations to play "Only You" by The Platters, the activation to her Jacobian Conditioning, Silva decidedly turns all her vehicles radio off, so no music (thanks for ruining a nice thing, Jacob you dick).
In what order were the Heralds taken down?: Kind of a canon divergent question, since Silva's order is more defined by major events in those regions. To oversimplify things, the herald she officially took down first was John - Atonement, plane fight, and freeing his bunker of prisoners - however she didn't kill him (much to everyone else's belief) and has him captive in her bunker at her residence. His bunker is also not destroyed, and had previously freed Hudson before the final showdown at Fall's End church (something she goes to after doing some tasks in the Whitetails and Henbane). The reason she didn't destroy his bunker was due to the hundreds of families full of expectant mothers and children in there that would have joined on their own accord, and something Silva is entirely against is the harm of children and non-combatants. Next major event was Jacob, however, while she does win a fight against him, she doesn't end up killing him, just taking his key and go off to rescue Pratt at the Armory, which they both destroy, however before she can do any major damage or get into a final confrontation with either Faith or Jacob (again), she is put out of commission from the after effects of the Jacobian Conditioning failing (she gets her ass beaten by ghosts her mind conjures up, mostly while in the Bliss and the Resistance essentially place her on the bench permanently due to their worry over her mental health and physical health). Jacob and Faith (though mostly Jacob) end up being secondary antagonistic forces during Silva's Rogue Arc, with Ernesto Stallone (a Courser of Adam's, essentially somebody he sends to hunt down prisoners or deserters of the Congregation) taking a proactive role as a major antagonist to her in that arc. She eventually creates a peace between Eden's Gate and the Resistance, putting an end to the fight for the rest of the year... until the beginning of the next year, where the Voice sends someone over to forcibly finish the prophecy.
Say YES in Fall’s End church?: Yes, actually. And not even the Spanish "si" that is more comfortable for her to use, she actually does say the English "yes" (and only for this occasion) to John because it's her own stealthy "fuck you" to him before attempting to put a bullet into his head; he wanted a sincere "yes" from her, but without him knowing, he received a non-committal answer.
Say YES in John’s bunker?: No. Silva... was stirring through a lot of internal emotions... seeing the state of Hudson and being face to face with the man who took what little legacy Elsa left behind made her incredibly defiant. While Silva knows he could pick Hudson, she didn't think he would. She's the one not giving him what he wants, and so he'll take his ire on Silva instead.
Did they believe Joseph in the end?: Did she believe Joseph was right in the end? No. Did she believe her father was right in the end? To an extent yes, but the darker thoughts would be rebuked by both Faith and Azriel.
Reaction to Burke and Virgil’s deaths: This is somethings that's still TBA for the Silva's Hope WIP. I'm set on Burke dying during the Reaping, probably while Silva is recovering from her last encounter with Bliss, realizing an attack by Faith is going to happen, and manages gets shot by Burke in Virgil's stead, leading to the Marshal's death (either by his own hand with whatever free will he has left or directly by Faith's influence), and either Silva will be put into a critical medical emergency or while grievously wounded she goes fend the Jail from the swarms of Peggies and Angels Faith sent before she collapses from the bullet wound that did not get better and then gets sent into a critical medical emergency (which would lead to Whitehorse (and the other Resistance leaders) to decidedly put her on the bench indefinitely). Now after the official Reaping, I'm still figuring out Virgil's fate. I don't think he'll be in Old Dusk but who knows.
Reaction to killing Eli: Here's a major canon-divergence: Silva doesn't end up killing Eli because the Jacobian Conditioning collapses/fails while she was on her way to assassinate Eli.
Feelings when killing Jacob: Not applicable since she doesn't kill Jacob. She does get in a fight with him though; after the Jacobian Conditioning collapses/fails and "Only You" no longer has an effect on her, Silva (after a hallucination of an Apostle attacks her) steps out of the Wolf's Den (a little more... enlightened, so to speak) and pretty much ignores the song that's supposed to send her into a killing rage, Jacob gives his position away by taking a shot at her head... which she dodges in her enlightened state (something Alexander witnesses and decidedly bails on Jacob cause that's, uh, scary shit right there!), and, in her cold and detached determination, brings down everything (from Chosen to Judges) that gets in her way to Jacob until she's at Jacob's sniping position and they get in a knife fight before Silva takes them both over the edge. Thankfully Jacob took the brunt of the fall, and Silva manages to awaken first. Instead of killing him there and then, she just takes his key to go get Pratt, and destroy the Armory, but mostly rescuing Pratt is her priority. Alexander and Hannah go pick up Jacob before Eli and the Whitetails could and retreat back to St. Francis, with Alexander informing Joseph of the incident and waiting until his boss woke up to recap some very bad news. Later on in Silva's Rogue Arc, Jacob and his remaining Chosen are a secondary antagonistic force, and during one encounter, Silva tells him John's alive to throw off his guard before escaping.
Feelings when killing John: Not applicable since Silva doesn't kill John, but she does get into a fight with him that ends with her secretly taking him captive. Silva is running high on her wrath and pain when fighting John; everything he's done to her, from taking Elsa's floristry (something she learned on a particularly sorrowful day) to murdering Rae-Rae and orphaning Ryan and Boomer, and everything he's done to others, like terrorizing and torturing the Ryes, the good people of Fall's End and her deputy partner Joey Hudson. After taking down his plane, she races after John on foot, and pretty much has him dead to rights; she's already used up all her bullets, and she doesn't want to use her Silver Dragon dagger on him, instead opting for a classic pummeling. Any attempt John makes to speak, every warning, all the ways he tries to justify his and the cult's actions and for every bit of implication that they might just be the same, it all falls on deaf ears as Silva throws him to the ground and just punches. Every strike, she names a thing he's done. To Hudson. To Fall's End. To the Ryes. And finally to her. She rides the high of her anger, grasps it in a choke hold as she continues to wail onto John just how much he's hurt. How much others have been hurt. How much she's hurt. She does this until John doesn't have the strength to protect himself and just takes the hits. However, Silva doesn't want to stop her wrath, but she's already burned through the rage she has for John. So instead she switches to the hate and anger she has towards herself. And that doesn't make her as mad as she wants to be... in fact it makes her pretty sad and empty inside. And suddenly she isn't punching John anymore (who by that point is likely bruised, bloody but alive and unconscious), and her hands are hurting under her gloves (because the skin has torn and the pain receptors there feel like they're burning). There's no more anger, no more violence she wants to inflict and she's just about emotionally exhausted, and no where close to feeling better than she thought she would. And for a minute she's just... lost on how to proceed. All she knows is that she really wants to go back to her house. Instead, she impulsively makes the decision to take John as a captive back to her house/bunker, and keep his key on her person.
Feelings when killing Faith: Not applicable. While Faith does still get the Marshal killed and attacks the Jailhouse, Silva is completely out of commission after either being shot by Burke and/or fending off the attack. They do have a confrontation during Silva's Rogue Arc but there's no intent to kill or fight there.
Feelings when fighting Joseph: To be determined for the Silva's Hope WIP.
Most used weapon(s): Silva uses an assortment of weapons, but the ones she continuously favored is a 1911 pistol, an altered compound bow that she's added serrated blades on the curves for close combat purposes, and lastly the Silver Dragon dagger she "inherited" during her fight with Paul.
Stealth or guns blazing?: Depends on the mission. If she's alone and/or there's hostages, then Silva would go the stealthy route. She'll do the "guns blazing" if she believes it'll give Silva and her allies an advantage. There is value in surprising your enemies with sudden chaotic action. As long as nothing of value is lost.
Gun-for-hire(s) or fang-for-hire(s) most traveled with: She does a fair bit of traveling with a lot of them, but the most consistent Fang-For-Hire is Boomer due to their closeness (since Rae-Rae was Silva's closest friend in Hope County). However, I think it depends on the region. I think she'd have Nick and/or Grace in Holland Valley, Jess and Grace in the Whitetail Mountains (with maybe either Cheeseburger or Peaches) and Sharky, Hurk Jr. and/or Adelaide in the Henbane River (with likely Peaches too). Of course this isn't her entire routine though, sometimes they just overlap. She also has Joey Hudson in Holland Valley too, and her old family friend Kamski Neon sometimes decides to help when he feels she needs it.
FAR CRY NEW DAWN INFO
What happened to them in the bunker with Joseph?: Not applicable, as Silva was in her bunker with Faith and Azriel when the nukes dropped and the Collapse was activated. Joseph managed to survive in Dutch's bunker alone (which was empty thanks to Ernesto Stallone murdering Dutch earlier in Silva's Hope), only really getting confirmation of Jacob's survival during his years in it. With Silva's Prepper Bunker, she'd go through a kind of depression (since the Collapse her father Adam and Joseph Seed spoke of came true) and would blame herself for it, but luckily Faith and Azriel would bounce her back from going too far into it. Silva's bunker is well stocked already and has plenty of resources for them to survive off of for decades. At some point, Mercy Omar-Seed would be conceived and born.
Do they ever speak/take off the mask?: Canon Divergent - Silva does wear an attire similar to the Judge in Far Cry: New Dawn, but it's mostly to obscure her identity in case she runs into people while going out to hunt/supply runs and/or fend off the Highwaymen away from getting closer to her family's residence or just occasionally protect her old friends and allies without them knowing (like Nick when the Highwaymen attempted to abduct him... the transport escorting him was ambushed and he was given an opportunity to mistake). Silva can still speak and take off the mask if she wants to, and does so. It has no connection to Joseph nor New Eden in Old Dusk.
Is their loyalty to Joseph genuine?: Not applicable, since Silva is not "the Judge" in the canon sense, and Silva dislikes Joseph now more than she disliked John in Silva's Hope.
Feelings on New Eden as a whole: Silva avoids New Eden as much as she avoids Prosperity, though not for the same reasons. She'd rather not associate with Joseph nor his members anymore.
Feelings on the Highwaymen and twins: Silva felt kind of vindicated to know that Adam and Joseph would be wrong about their "Paraíso" and "Garden" - there would still be conflict even after the world suffered a major catastrophic event. But other than that, she finds them to be a nuisance on good days, and the same goddamn type of invading scumbags she has to fend off for the 5th time in her entire lifetime. She does grow suspicious of their growing strategic advantage and even how they've... changed since settling in Hope County. Silva finds Mickey and Lou to be another pair of pillaging brutes she's ready take down if they weren't so goddamn elusive. She knows they're hiding something... or someone.
Thoughts on the Security Captain being chosen by Joseph: Canon Divergence strikes again - while Ezekiel is initially intriguing to Joseph, it is Azriel that earns his full attention; both for her success in the trials Jacob puts her and Ezekiel through to see if they were worthy to find Joseph, and for her features sharing Joseph and his late wife's own (blue eyes and dark hair (if it wasn't dyed) from him and having majority of his wife's looks), leaving him to believe that she's spiritually his daughter returned to him by God (maybe as a apology for tasking him to do horrible things or a final reward for his services or something akin to that). Regardless, Silva was suspicious when Ezekiel was being tested by Jacob and Ethan, but is very protective of her daughter when Joseph's interest becomes evident. She almost decides gaining New Eden's help against the Highwaymen isn't worth it and that both herself and Ezekiel will make do with Rush and Prosperity's residents.
Did they try and help Ethan lead while Joseph was in the North?: Not applicable, since Silva didn't live in New Eden. However, to answer that question, it was mostly Jacob and Alexander guiding him (with an occasional friendship break with Mercy and Carmina).
Was Ethan’s betrayal anticipated?: No, actually, but it was less "betrayal" and being tricked via manipulations by Paul, who took advantage of his daddy issues (adaptively filling that void Joseph neglected to fill and Jacob couldn't exactly fit in) to be allowed access in New Eden and gain information on where Joseph's Sanctuary is and subsequently the Apple(s) of Eden. After that, he leaves the gates of New Eden wide open for the Twins and Highwaymen to burn the place down, to Ethan's horror.
If the Security Captain shot Joseph, how did they react?: Not applicable, Ezekiel isn't the one to be given an opportunity to kill Joseph. Paul murders Joseph after a passive-aggressive chat over tea and realizing Joseph had tampered with the controls to his Highwaymen Compound's gates and defenses, having known Paul would let him in, and already suspected Paul wouldn't have let him live even if he hadn't tampered with the controls to the advantage of Ezekiel and Silva and their allies.
If the Security Captain spared Joseph, how did they react?: Not applicable, since Paul kills Joseph in the Old Dusk WIP.
If given the opportunity, would they have shot Joseph themselves? Did they?: Kind of canon divergent but ...maybe she would have. Silva certainly holds a deep dislike for Joseph ever since the events of Silva's Hope, and his actions, relationship with Ethan (or lack thereof) and obsessions with both the Apple of Eden tree and her eldest daughter Azriel certainly had not decreased her loathing for the former prophet. However, I'm inclined to lean towards disagreeing; the only reason Silva doesn't straight up murder Joseph (even if she and Ezekiel required his help), is because Faith, in spite of what happened in Silva's Hope, still considers him family, even if she no longer wishes to see him. Not helped by her youngest daughter Mercy pleading to her to not kill Joseph since Ethan, despite the less-than-ideal relationship, would be sad. And Silva has no intention depriving loved ones of their parents (even if that parent isn't that good). In regards to Joseph's death, I think Silva is... shocked to a degree. For all the time she knew him, much like her own Father, she had the subconscious (conditioned) thought that he would be untouchable, and he had been able to survive a lot of bullshit during Silva's Hope, but she supposed she shouldn't be surprised - much like Adam, Joseph was mortal. She's still mixed about it though; Silva absolutely hates him, and thinks he did deserve death, but not at Paul's hands. She would have been more relieved if he simply passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones; it would be undeserved in her opinion, but it wouldn't be so haunting. Silva knows that Joseph essentially sacrificed himself to give them an advantage in stopping Paul, the Twins and the Highwaymen, but it doesn't make think any better of him. If anything, she's more angry at him. They would have found a way in, she believed this to be true, eventually they would have, but his sacrifice feels more like him throwing his life away to martyr himself; something she did in Silva's Hope, and had she been successful, she would have left a lot of good people who cared about her behind, and likely would never have been able to save Azriel from her biological parents, the county from Eden's Gate and Adam's Guard, and would never have fully gotten the chance to know and love Faith, nor would Faith have a chance to know what unconditional love was, and neither would Mercy have been born either. She would have left so many loved ones and friends behind if she threw her life away; much like Joseph did when going to Paul alone, leaving behind Ethan, Jacob, John, Faith and the remainder of New Eden to grieve for their lost father and brother and leader. Silva isn't sad that Joseph is dead, but she isn't glad either.
Do they stay in Hope County after the events of New Dawn?: After the Highwaymen are defeated (and Paul is finally free to rest in peace), and having gone through all that she did in La Última En Pie, Silva's Hope and Old Dusk, Silva is... ready to close off the chapter of the life she's spent in Hope County. For as much as it was home, for as much as she found new beginnings, a new community, friends and family, and love again, it is also a place filled with lost loved ones, broken promises, painful regrets and unfathomable grief and loneliness. She yearned for a life of normalcy that she only got to experience for a short while before it was violently ripped from her, time and time again. It had been the closest thing to home she had gotten too, and it will be something she returns to one day, but she needs time, and to start letting go. And to do that, she needs to return back to her roots, an opportunity that Ezekiel offers Silva and her family on his and Rush's journey to visit the Underworld, a Tumultite safe haven turned bastion. She leaves with her wife Faith and her eldest Azriel (as well as Azriel's partner Schrödinger Turquoise (who lost their guardian, Gavin, to the Twins) and her epic A.I companion Mary Lamb). Mercy doesn't join them, having found her own home in Hope County, and wanting to help Carmina and Ethan (and by extension their respective communities) in restoring the county. With a promise to return (and to set up a radio channel or some mail distribution system to communicate with the county per the request of the Ryes), and a goodbye to her youngest daughter and their friends & family, Silva (with Faith and Azriel), set out on a train for parts unknown with Ezekiel and Rush.
