I love PureSound wires. The first snare has Twisted 20 wires, and the second snare has Super 30 wires. All of my snares except the Rogers PowerTone have PureSound wires. The Rogers PowerTone has a Gibraltar 42 strand wire. It’s extremely expensive to try different combinations of batter (top) and reso (bottom) heads. I use Evans heads. I’m thankful I’ve been able to try just about every head Evans makes to find the few combos I utilize the most. All my snares run either the Clear 300 or Clear 500 reso heads and the batters are usually the HD Dry, UV1, UV2, or Hydraulic. Haven’t really posted personal stuff in a while. The neck surgery I had in March of last year failed. The screws at C6/C7 didn’t fuse to the bone and are loose. This is causing the hardware to move and is becoming more and more painful every day. I’ll be going in on the 30th to have the surgery redone. Mix & Match Pearl Free Floater Snare. I swapped out the Pearl maple shell for a Ludwig steel shell I found for $5. I couldn’t get the maple shell to tune no matter the head combo. Switched up the snares. The Pearl popcorn was just too snappy as the main but sounds amazing as the accent snare. Of course Col. Mustard is always a winner as primary snare.
