Evertrue-Brodi Ashton book review

I have finally finished the everneath series! This series was so good and I am so glad I found it and got to read it.

I saw that a lot of people didn’t really enjoy this book but I loved it. It was very different from the other two but in a good way. Yes maybe Nikki doesn’t make the best decisions but I have gotten used to reading books with characters like that so it doesn’t really bother me as much as it used too. But I will say many times I do not like her decisions because she is always trying to die. 

The reason I really enjoyed this book it because we got to see a completely different side of Cole. I won’t really say how or why coz spoilers but It was very different to see him the way he was in this book and I really enjoyed learning more about his journey as an everliving that we didn't get to know before. I have personally always really liked Cole because to me I really think he goes through a lot of pain and even though he does bad things I still really like him. (if you have read the mortal instruments he is like a sebastian to me super evil but still has my sorrow)

The ending of this book really got me I was actually a bit upset at the ending. Not that it wasn’t a good ending just that it made me sad. But even with the sadness there is a little bit of happiness right after. So the ending is bittersweet but good. Overall I would give this book a 5 out of 5 because it was an overall good book for the ending of the series and I would definitely read it again.

Evertrue is the third and final book in the Everbound trilogy. I have listened to the entire series as an audio and it wasn't bad, I had to get use to the voice a little bit but the actor wasn't bad. The story fascinated me from the beginning, it is mythology based and not only that but is based on of the Hades/Persephone myth.

While the first book was okay, the second book picked up and the third book even the story out. Brodi did a good job with Cole, I mean he is not the hero of this story, he is actually an anti-hero but I couldn't help but feel for him at times. I totally saw how Nikki felt, one minute she is furious with Cole but the next she absolutely cares for him. I had the same kind of reaction to him, Cole is sort of charismatic and you can't help but feel for him a little.

There were a few things that I didn't like. For one, the fact that it was never cleared up that Nikki wasn't a drug user. Her father is the mayor and has a variety of resources so why couldn't he drug test her hair to show that she never did drugs, that the situation came about because of emotional grief. The other thing... I think the ending could have been better, though it made sense I still didn't feel comfortable with the last events that went down in the everneath.

The Everbound series did do something I love, the love between Jack and Nikki. The fact that those two actually listen to each other, that they know each other and are willing to do anything for each other, that is everything. After everything that Nikki has cause Jack was still there for her and while he understood her actions he was still valid in his emotions, he was upset at times and that was reasonable.

One thing is for sure, Evertrue had kept up the action. The whole gang was running around the everneath plotting to stop the queen and take down the everneath. However it was the relationships that I liked most. Jack's brother Will is willing to do anything for Jack and Nikki, Jack is willing to do anything for the love of his life Nikki and Nikki will do whatever she can to stop them both from getting hurt. Overall I enjoyed the third book and I am looking forward to finding more books based off of mythology.

He tilted his head, leaned forward, watching my eyes the entire time to make sure it was okay, and kissed me lightly on the lips. “You already have it.”
