Yandere AU
Mary Jane is in love with Peter and was going to confess to him when the right time arrived. Unfortunately Betty ruined that but going out with him! Which is why MJ is going to the Daily Bugle and plant seeds of doubt to ruin the relationship. She will make it seem like Peter is cheating on Betty with her.
(Yandere) (Manipulation)
Mary Jane walked into the Bugle with her usual confidence, a bright smile that didn’t betray the storm simmering behind her eyes. She timed it perfectly—Betty was already at her desk, sorting through files, and Peter had just left on an errand. Perfect.
“Morning, Betty,” MJ greeted, her tone casual and honey-smooth. “Wow, you look tired. Peter keeping you up late?” She chuckled lightly, then leaned closer as though sharing a harmless joke. “He does have… a lot of energy, doesn’t he?”
Betty blinked, slightly thrown. “Uh—yeah, I guess so. We’ve been busy.”
MJ tilted her head, letting her smile soften into something sympathetic. “Busy. Right. I just worry, y’know? Pete’s such a sweet guy, but sometimes he doesn’t realize when he’s giving mixed signals.” She lowered her voice, conspiratorial. “I mean, I’m sure he told you about how much time we’ve been spending together lately… right?”
Betty’s brows furrowed. “What do you mean?”
MJ sighed, playing the part of the reluctant confidante. “Oh, maybe I shouldn’t have said anything. It’s not what you think. He just… calls me late sometimes. Needs someone to talk to, needs someone to… help him relax after all that stress.” She gave a small, knowing laugh. “He always says I ‘get him’ in ways no one else can. Exact words.”
She pulled back before Betty could respond, flipping her hair with a nonchalant shrug. “But hey—don’t worry. I’d never get in the way of your relationship. You two are solid. I’m just saying… if Pete seems distracted, or if he slips up and says my name instead of yours—don’t be too hard on him. It doesn’t mean anything. Not really.”
Her words lingered like poison wrapped in sugar, each syllable carefully measured to sow doubt while never openly accusing. She smiled again, wide and reassuring, before heading off with a breezy, “See you around, Betty.”
