stranger things valentines (dose 1/2)
Dynamic
Fandom: 9-1-1 Rating: PG Relationships: Eddie Diaz & Evan Buckley; pre Eddie Diaz/Buck Buckley; past Abby Clark/Buck Buckley; Buck & Hen, Buck & Chim; Buck & Bobby; Buck & Athena Other Characters: Chris Diaz Word count: Currently 9K Chapter Count: 2/6
Summary:
After the tsunami, Eddie dumped Chris with Buck for his dubious brand of child care. And Chris talked Buck into getting a wheelchair, as a some times thing. For bad days, adventures, and figuring out who your family are.
Or, Ambulatory Wheelchair User Buck, the 5 times he told people about it, and the one person he trusted the whole way through.
Chapter 2.
Buck thought they were heading into a good summer. He was back with the 118. He’d forgiven Abby. He and Eddie were getting along. Athena was safe.
…And then COVID happens. With the quarantines and the masks and the shutdowns and the rotating COVID scares and actual COVID exposures. Hen, Chimney, and Eddie move into the loft with Buck, because they’re already in a pod together. Karen has Denny, Nia, and apparently they don’t need any more children. Maddie is pregnant and high risk. Abuela is high risk. And Eddie is terrified of Chris getting really sick because any conversation about care rationing has a very different view of Chris than Eddie does. None of them want to get their loved ones sick, so they quarantine separately.
And since Buck is the only one who lives alone, it makes the most sense to invade Buck’s loft. Which just feels like a reminder of how bad Buck’s loft is for him… and everyone else.

something about the way buck and eddie were both clearly severely overcompensating in every way in this episode
i’m still thinking about their fake smiles throughout the episode and how they’re reflective of the ways they both conceal (or..try to conceal) their feelings
like buck was Big and Bold and Bright this whole episode from the very beginning. bowing at the mariachis, the way he was eating and joking at eddie’s dinner table, at the bar with lucy, and asking taylor to move in with him
and eddie’s honestly started bright and fairly believable but quickly devolved to these really painful tight smiles and tired eyes and Avoidance and anger that he always uses as a protective barrier
they’re both just…a mess. speeding cars with ticking time bombs heading straight for a collision and i can’t look away
eddie munson could ask to fuck my belly button and id still say yes
do you ship any canon stranger things ships? personally i don't. they all feel a little too dull and kinda lame. maybe that's just because i don't really like any of the st characters besides billy lmfao
so back when i actually liked the show lmao i was a MASSIVE jancy and jopper shipper (hell i used to even like mileven just not nearly to the same extent. thats very much gone away now lmfao)
jancy and jopper... i mean i still ship. i’ll still reblog them. im still pulling for jancy endgame lmao because like literally what the fuck is the purpose if theyre not. but the show as a whole has been dulled for me. i cant even think about hopper anymore without getting pissed off about that bullshit season 3 writing as far as his and billys death arcs go. just absolute bafoonery.
the whole shows just tainted now so i cant be bothered to really care anymore lmao
making stuff for ravi week made me realise just how little ravi & eddie moments we have, it’s now my no.1 request for s6
