My animals are nicer to me,

Than any human being.

Wait, I know I sound like a weird hermit,

But they allow things humans won't permit.

I can be a nerd and talk about comics,

Then switch it up and tell all I know about atomics.

They even like when I talk about sports.

All the softball plays, the long and the short.

I don't have to be just a nerd or a jock or a thinker,

They like me however I am, much like a freethinker.

Sometimes they make me wish,

That my only worries were filling up their dish.

Life would be easier if,

We could all be as excepting as pets.

Music doesn't care about gender, race, or sexuality. The world shouldn't either. Men can like Madonna, and girls can like Metal. Music is a form of expression. People should be as excepting as music.

I think the main problem with mental illness and society is, that people who suffer from mental illness, don't specifically want other people to understand them, but to respect and except them the way they are and handle all of this.

Is that really to much to ask for?

Ps: I didn't want to offend anyone. I just think, that it is hard to truly understand something, without ever experiencing this kind of feeling/ situation, but that does not prevent me of being respectful towards them.
