Mental Health

Recently, my parents have been disagreeing,

With step-mom planning on fleeing.

It's okay, though.

It sucks and I have to deal with it, I know.

But God forbid that I miss a day of school,

Because then everyone will think I'm a fool.

I've learned from a early age,

That the only that that matter is getting that A.

So of course the laughed when I asked for a break,

They thought it was a joke, completely fake.

But that break down I had,

Over an A- isn't that bad.

So I'll keep my grades and attendance perfect,

And wait my mind and heart to connect.

Please

This poem is for my friend,

She feels like she's at a dead end,

That there's no room to bend,

And her family she must mend.

You are going to be okay,

But your problems won't go away,

No matter how much you joke and say,

That you "made a deal with the fey."

I get it, it's not easy,

But it's not supposed to be sweetie,

And for the love of God, promise me,

That you will set yourself free.

And pretty, pretty please,

Set yourself at ease.

Reminder

If the head out a screw is stripped,

Or chipped or broken or damaged,

It can't always go it's job.

It definately can't do it's job perfectly.

It can still be used, but cautiously.

More damage will put it out permanetly.

It might be better to let the poor thing rest,

Rather than forcing it more.

And just maybe the screw should find,

Something else that it can do.

Because with enough creativity,

It can have an endless number of other jobs.

The best option isn't always the first,

Or the one that is most expected of you.

So don't let your head get messed up,

And find the perfect fit.

Serpent in the Flowers

I've finally found the way to look at my past,

It's like something of great contrast.

Something like dirt huts versus great towers.

Like a serpent in the flowers.

Apparent evil of the snake,

With venom a life it can take.

But no one seems to fear,

The venom in the flowers, so unclear.

When all around is the bleeding heart,

With the poor snake as its counterpart.

The creature eats the mice and other nuisances,

While the flowers are what is really abusive.

So perhaps the snake should be there to stay,

And the stunning flowers should be taken away.

Or even the snake should go somewhere,

That it will have people that truly care.

But since the snake is so frowned upon,

Maybe people will just want it gone.

And even though the flowers cause despair,

People will never consider to be aware.

So maybe my past is like a serpent in the flowers,

And I have to learn that the serpent is what matters,

To finally understand what is wrong.

Because the flowers are what was cynical all along.

A Ballad for my First Brother

It's alright kid,

I know times are tough.

Trouble you will be rid,

Even though it's rough.

It's rough, but Mom is back now,

So no need to fear.

She's no longer drugged out,

So don't shed a tear.

I know your dad is hard on you.

So just sit and hear.

My dad does it to me, too.

Your dad is a headache,

But he does it for reason.

He hopes to save you from heartache,

I promise it's not treason.

Our grandpa just likes sports.

No matter what the season,

Our ideas he tries to thwart.

Our ideas they try to thwart,

To make us "stronger",

Even though it just makes our tempers short.

Are the reason behind their bother.

But it's alright kid,

I know times are tough.

Pets

My animals are nicer to me,

Than any human being.

Wait, I know I sound like a weird hermit,

But they allow things humans won't permit.

I can be a nerd and talk about comics,

Then switch it up and tell all I know about atomics.

They even like when I talk about sports.

All the softball plays, the long and the short.

I don't have to be just a nerd or a jock or a thinker,

They like me however I am, much like a freethinker.

Sometimes they make me wish,

That my only worries were filling up their dish.

Life would be easier if,

We could all be as excepting as pets.

Attempted Sonnet #1

I hate when people tell me that I'm naive,

That I can't speak my mind due to my age.

They get upset when I wear my heart on my sleeve,

And when I share my opinion I'm on a rampage.

Why can't I comment on the world?

Because my age is so slight?

These people look at me like my mind is swurled,

And they need to learn that I might just bite.

I've decided that my opinion is valuable,

So it shall be shared when I feel it necessary.

It will no longer be confined to my skull.

Even if others don't see it as chummy.

My thoughts shall always be known,

Because I am simply not a someone's perfect clone.

writing is demanding

so many rules

and regulations

i feel the need to follow

that conclusively

dont matter

because even

writing with no rules

is simply stunning
